There are four distinct sections to the Firm, comprising Geotechnical/Environmental, Civil/Infrastructure, Structural and Building Services Engineering, and these are supported by our CAD & Revit Department and our Administration & Finance Departments. We number 35 staff in total. We undertake Pre-Planning Services and Full Design Services from conception through to handover and occupation. Our Engineers are highly qualified and either Chartered or working towards Chartered Status. We utilise the latest technology, data and software packages to assist in the design of schemes.
ARP has been involved in the design of numerous high rise buildings throughout the country. We are able to provide a full service from initial feasibility through to project completion. ARP prides itself on its pro-active and cost effective approach to the refurbishment of existing buildings. We have provided solutions for a wide range of projects from single dwelling barn conversions to hospitals, multi-storey mill buildings, and façade retention on listed buildings. Our team of experienced Structural Engineers can deal with all forms of new build construction, including load bearing masonry, steel frames, timber frames and concrete structures and are able to advise on the most viable form of structure at all stages of design and construction.
As with all of its projects, the Practice seeks to provide designs that are of a high technical standing, consider energy usage as a primary design factor, and provide design solutions that consider sustainability and future maintenance as core requirements. Starting with topographical surveys of any site with an accurate record of boundaries, slopes, on-site features and trees and canopies, all to Ordnance Survey datum, together with engineering information relating to on-site drainage and other similar details.
ARP and their staff have worked on many commercial buildings, from out of town business parks to city centre multi-storey Grade A office blocks. As with all of its projects, the Practice seeks to provide designs that are of a high technical standing, consider energy usage as a primary design factor, and provide design solutions that consider sustainability and future maintenance as core requirements. Our integrated design teams offering skills across all engineering disciplines work collaboratively and closely with architects to determine the best engineering solutions.
ARP has implemented numerous assessments in relation to NPPF and PPG and have conducted extensive negotiations with the Environment Agency, Internal Drainage Boards and Land Drainage Authorities to provide appropriate reports with recommended mitigation measures to satisfy these requirements. We have also successfully represented Clients at Planning Appeals in relation to flood issues. The aim of the reports is to maintain a simple, user-friendly approach, whilst addressing the main issues causing concern to the Regulatory Authorities.
