Established in 1954, by Jack Mosley. Jack was a local weaver who began by making fabric for bus seats and traditional hearth rugs that were woven from locally sourced wool and acrylic and cotton from Lancashire. Three generations later we are still manufacturing at our two sites in Scissett, Huddersfield. A true family business with Jack's son David along with cousins Melvyn and Michael Mosley. David focused on production, new products and securing new contracts. He is well remembered for his renditions of 'Oh Danny Boy' as he toured the factory.
Based in West Yorkshire, an area that has always been at the heart of the UK's textile industry, we employ a large local workforce, many within walking distance of our factory. The beauty of this region has inspired us in a sustainable strategy to minimise the environmental impact with products that reduce waste and cut down the use of scarce natural resources. This philosophy has led us to developing and creating environmentally sustainable products. We constantly look for ways to improve our environmental credentials, from recycling our water and waste to using renewable energy to power our machines.

Just got a nice bank holiday offer from Hug Rug and was going to buy 2 mats. 15% off one mat on the entire website! What damp squib start to bank holiday weekend!
Recommendation is not to wash them too often but I have 2 springers who bring a lot of dirty water indoors. They have become very faded very quickly have only had them this year. Lovely and soft and absorbent but feel non patterned would have been a better option with 2 wetdogs to cope with
Hug rug #amazeballs. I have 3 Hug Rugs. After washing the oldest (nearly 2 years) recently, the rubber backing started cracking. Get on to Hug Rug and less than a week later I have a brand new one. Thank you so much Hug Rug. #britshrecycledb rilliant.
