Harpenen Roofing can provide you with a range of guttering services. We can repair, replace and install, plastic, aluminium and cast Iron guttering systems. We have extensive experience work on grade listed buildings and this often requires cast iron guttering to either be replaced with a like for like replacement. Cast Iron guttering is significantly heavier than plastic guttering and as such extra care must be taken when installing such a system. Our team frequently work on metal and plastic guttering systems for both domestic and commercial projects and we would be more than happy to discuss your requirements and specifications with you, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.

Harpenden Roofing offers a range of slating services from repairs and alterations, to new roofs and re-roofs. We have a extensive range of suppliers and can source all types of slate tiles from older reclaimed tiles to match your current roof, or if your are looking for a particular style for a new roof. The process of slating is very similar to tiling, where a breathable membrane is fixed to the rafters or roof structure and timber battens are then fixed on top of the membrane to form the structure to secure the tiles to.

Chimney build, repair, re-pointing and restoration is part of what we do on a very regular basis. We can help identify the causes of blocked chimneys and flues, as well as repair a range of old and new style chimneys back to full working order. A large part of our work involves installing flue liners into existing chimneys. This involves removing the chimney pots or cowls and often removing several layers of brickwork, to open up the chimney, to feed the metal liner down to the fireplace/burner.

Harpenden Roofing offers high quality lead work services, ranging from repair and restoration through to new installations. Our experienced and highly skilled lead welders can fulfill all of your requirements, whether it be small one-off repairs, to large gullies, valleys and waterproofing projects. We regularly work on repairing and replacing many lead features for church roofs for example, and as such this type of work requires a particularly trusted and quality service, which is something our customers rely on us to consistently deliver in all of roofing services that we provide.

We have been felt roofing for over 35 years and it is one of key our specialties. We still use the traditional method of hot bitumen to bond the layers of felt together. Today many contractors choose to only use a flame gun, to melt the layers of felt together. We believe this is an inferior method and that it will not last as long. Our tried and test method of using melted bitumen between the layers of felt, creates a strong, durable and water tight bond that will last for several years. We also offer felt roof insulation which is very popular for those having their felt roof replaced.

Tiling is one of our key specialties and we offer a complete service for all of your tiling needs. We can work on new, old or restoration tiling projects, and with our extensive range of suppliers, we can source practically any style, shape and colour of tile that you desire, even reclaimed tiles are available. Our typical system that we apply is a breathable membrane that is fixed on top of the rafters or main roof structure. Then pressure treated timber battens are secured on top of the breathable membrane.

We offer and specialise in a wide variety of roofing services to suit all of your needs. Please see the full range of services that we provide on our drop down list above. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us with further questions.

We do offer commercial roofing services, with our specialty being in flat felt roofing. We were the primary contractor for Vauxhall Motors for over a decade whilst there civilian car manufacturing plant was based in Luton, involving tens of thousands of square meters of felt roofing to be replaced and repaired. We also work on commercial clay tiling and slating projects as well, please contact us for more details.

We able to insulate your roof, loft or garage with a range of the latest insulating materials, from standard glass fibre insulation for typical pitched roof and stud wall applications, fibre board which is more common for felt roofing and foam insulation board with low emissivity aluminium foil facing sheets for high efficiency requirements. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements and a member of our team can go through the various options and prices with you.

New roofs are dealt with in virtually the same process as would be for a re-roofing project. The key difference is mainly that new style tiles tend to be used because the building is frequently being built from new. However, new roofs can be part of an extension for example and then tile matching is required to ensure the tiles on the current part of the roof match the extension. Harpenden Roofing can work with you to choose the most suitable style and type of tile that you wish to go onto your new roof, whether it be clay, tile or concrete tiles.
