We offer a french polishing and provenance service. We will retain the charm and character, finish with care and precision and return the finished item along with a written document divulging the history. Our Beginner, intermediate and professional courses at our Cotswold workshop are designed to give the student the fundamental basics and in depth professional skills of French polishing, contemporary paint techniques, furniture redesigning and woodcare.
Our French Polishing tuition at our Cotswold workshop (in Blockley) is designed to give the student the fundamental basics of French polishing and woodcare, and to give hands on tuition leaving the student with the vital practical skills needed to refinish furniture. Each student will work on a small/medium sized piece of their choice allowing them to go through the full process within one/two working days. Bespoke courses are available including 3, 4, 5 days and a 2 week masterclass. The course is designed for groups of 2 to 4. If you wanted a bespoke package then we can mix and match to make sure you gain everything you need from the workshop.
As a woodworker and upcycler myself, I joined Ollie for one of his one-day French Polishing courses to top up my skills. I took along a customers reproduction mahogany coffee table which we prepared and polished to a finished piece. The transformation was amazing and the customer was extremely happy.
