If your perception of a conservatory or sunroom is a glorified greenhouse that is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, think again. Stevenswood, a traditional family run company, are one of Scotland's leading bespoke design and build specialists of luxury, premium quality, fully insulated conservatories, sunrooms, house / home extensions and orangeries. With over 80 years of extensions experience behind us, we take care of everything from start to finish. Let Stevenswood Sunrooms & Conservatories turn your dreams into reality, and enjoy the outside, inside ALL YEAR ROUND.

Stevenswood is a family company with over 60 years experience and has grown over the years to be a recognised market leader in Scotland, mainly by setting ourselves high professional standards, understanding our customers' needs and expectations and always remembering that they have a choice. Although a leading designer, manufacturer and builder of optimally insulated conservatories and extensions, we endeavour to always maintain our family firm principles in all our professional dealings, not only with our customers but also with all local authorities, staff, and suppliers, ensuring that despite our growth, we never forget our roots.

If you have very specific ideas of how you want your conservatory to look, just talk to a Stevenswood expert. We will be able to design a bespoke conservatory to your own individual requirements to ensure you get the very best design to suit your home. Stevenswood Conservatories work all over Central Scotland in areas such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire, Hamilton, Stirling, Perthshire, Midlothian, Bothwell, Newton Mearns, Bearsden, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Strathaven and many more. As an alternative to bespoke conservatories why not view our beautiful sunrooms, orangeries or house extensions instead.

This process takes time. Consider your needs and the potential use of your conservatory as an ever changing room - sitting room, dining room, study, playroom, gym, party room, gardening room, hobby room, music room, utility room, den. Consider your dcor and furniture. Your conservatory doesn't need to be enormous. Small can be beautiful. However, the size should be determined by your needs. We recommend going outside and setting out the proposed size and shape of your conservatory using canes, bricks, plant pots, in fact anything that comes to hand.

Transform your conservatory into an all year round sunroom with Stevenswood's Optimally Insulated Solid Roofing System. Beware of the conversion cowboys, it's imperative to apply for a building warrant and structural engineers' report. Check with your Local Authority Building Control Department. Our system is the ONLY one of its type to satisfy ALL Scottish Building Regulations and Standards and meet ALL criteria laid down by Building Control. This is why some unscrupulous companies encourage you not to apply for Permissions because they know full well their application will be rejected.

The Classic design of Georgian conservatories allows the greatest use of light and space. The ridged roof of a Georgian conservatory system ensures perfect symmetry of design. Georgian conservatories have a flat front and a square/rectangular shape meaning there is no wasted space when setting out your furniture and plants. Georgian conservatories were originally built on period homes from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The Georgian conservatory was originally exclusive only to the very rich with stately homes.

We offer consultation and assistance with all local authority planning and building control applications, inspired designs and an experienced manufacturing and installation team comprising of conservatory joiners, engineers, glazers, builders, plasterers, electricians and plumbers. Our bespoke workmanship and use of high quality materials ensure that your final product is able to withstand the harshest of weather conditions and look fantastic for many many years. Stevenswood covers the vast majority of Scotland; from Rothesay and Dunoon in the West to North Berwick and Dunbar in the East, Aberdeen down to Dumfries we cover just about everywhere.

With today's bleak economic situation and stagnant housing market, more and more of our clients are deciding to make sound investment in extending their homes with house extensions or sunrooms. Sunrooms offer a halfway house between a conservatory and a house extension in the respect that the roof will be traditionally tiled or slated but large glazing areas in the sidewalls of the sunrooms ensure that it will always retain a light and airy feel. Sunrooms can also be versatile from the point of view that it can be used as a playroom, office, games room, dining area, sitting room and bedroom to name just a few uses.

For a bespoke solution to adding light and space to your home, choose the Stevenswood Orangery which gives all year round functionality. Orangeries offer a slightly different take on traditional conservatories. And a Stevenswood orangery is a great way to add conservatory-style light and space to your home. Stevenswood orangeries, like conservatory styles, are both traditional and contemporary, falling somewhere between conservatory and traditional extensions styles. With their brick pillars, orangeries offer more privacy than conservatory styles and the interior height provides a breathtaking focal point through which light floods in to your home.

Following a great deal of deliberation and visits to various companies we decided to replace our large conservatory roof with a Supalite Tiled Roof System.

A visit to the Stevenswood Conservatories showhouse at Crossford and viewing the standard of workmanship evident and having a detailed discussion with Blair Hamilton (Managing Director) convinced us that this was the company for us. Blair’s knowledge, honesty and friendliness was impressive and he made us feel that we were in safe hands and were dealing with a company that genuinely cared for the customer and that a bespoke, excellent service would be delivered.

Blair subsequently visited for a technical site survey and a costing was given. Another impressive tick-in-the-box was the fact that there was no ‘hard sell’ as is often the case. Following a few days of reflection we contacted Blair and he again visited to honestly advise on other issues such as Building Warrants.

It should be noted that we had been given cheaper quotes from other companies but we were happy to pay that little bit extra for the peace of mind and feeling that our conservatory was in safe hands.

A firm lives and dies by the quality of its people and this is where Stevenswood excels. Special thanks are due to Robert (Architect) for the thoroughness of his work; Tom and Davey (‘the dynamic duo’) who were responsible for the bulk of the work and whose workmanship, approachability and advice were exemplary; Alan (Plasterer) and Jonathan (Electrician).

The only negative relating to our Stevenswood experience (and completely outwith their control!) was that our installation began on 23 March - the evening of which the lockdown began. Throughout this period the company were a phone call away and Tom visited to ensure we remained wind and watertight. Following resumption, the job proceeded as promised.

A job of this magnitude on your home is for all customers a concern and Stevenswood certainly delivered, so much so that we would have no hesitation in using them again in the future and in recommending them to family, friends and anyone considering both a quality product and service.

A big thank you to everyone at Stevenswood, especially Jean and Fay in the Office. Our Orangery is absolutely stunning with family and neighbours so impressed with the quality and design. If we can show it off to prospective customers for you, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Dear All at Stevenswood,

Right from the start of the estimation process I was impressed with the "checking back" as to how the quotation was developing. Once the order was placed, it was clear from the first site meeting that Your Architect and Office Staff were all geared up to meet my challenging timeline, driven by the delivery of my kitchen ( a separate contract ) before all trades broke for Xmas. This was especially challenging due to unknowns in length of planning process.

Stevenswood's tradesmen were excellent, with all well coordinated, and no undue breaks waiting for other trades. Exceptional efforts were made to keep the house closed to the elements and secure at all times, a difficult task given major scope of the works. My key milestones were met, requiring flexibility from all trades, with nothing being "too much bother". I am very happy with the end result of the project, which has exceeded my expectations, and has required no snagging whatsoever. Any extras were clear as we went along, avoiding "unexpected surprises". All in all an excellent experience, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Stevenswood.
