Hip to Gable
This type of loft conversion is only suitable for houses that are already hip-ended. For this loft adaptation we extend the existing roof in line with the external wall, creating plenty of extra floor space - often enough for two rooms and a bathroom. This leaves the house looking from the outside as though it was originally built to this specification.
The 'Roof Off / Roof On' Process
Acorn Lofts are one of only a handful of loft conversion specialists in the UK to offer the new and exciting concept of “Roof off, Roof on” loft conversions.
Dormer Conversion
This type of loft conversion is most suitable for properties where the current roof space lacks adequate headroom for the desired finished room. The process entails extending the walls upward through the roof, typically on just one side, to establish a flat ceiling within, thus generating additional living space.
Velux (roofline)
This loft conversion approach is ideal for homes with existing loft spaces that offer sufficient headroom, albeit for smaller rooms like a single bedroom or a study. It's a less intrusive option compared to a Dormer conversion and often doesn't necessitate planning permission, although it's advisable to confirm this with your local authority for peace of mind.
