Mainstream opened its doors as a boutique administrator in 2006 with just seven employees. Today we employ over 284 people in our global network of offices. Yet Mainstream's story started much earlier than this when our founding directors worked together for many years as management consultants, implementing major back office and shared services projects. Our founders identified a gap in the fund administration market for an independent provider. They went on to establish Mainstream as a boutique alternative to existing fund administrators and won the business of fund managers, many of whom have gone on to grow exponentially.
