That's the sliding door on the bothy earlier this week. With the colder weather here it's now a little less draughty in the workshop.
First coat of Linseed oil paint going on the bothy door this morning. It's a traditional finish made from 100% linseed oil, the paint is coloured using natural paint pigments and is completely free from solvents so very environmentally friendly. It's more labour intensive then using modern paints.
Space is valuable in the bothy so the chip extractor has been moved outside into a wee lean-to extension. It's a traditional board and batten construction using Scottish Larch sourced locally from Moray. Added bonus is the workshop is now much quieter.
After a delay because of covid and home schooling it looks like the bothy workshop is almost ready. It's had a new roof, concrete floor, some pointing and a complete rewire. Just had the electrics switched on this morning. Felt like Christmas day firing up the machinery again. Just have the last.
