Designed to compliment the CH33 style dining chairs, the elm dining table features a huge 2.2m long top made from locally sourced timber. The legs use the crossover design I have used on smaller tables before. This was designed to fit a specific space in a client's house. The ash top has fantastically characterful grain with legs based on the scissor arch design that has worked so well on coffee tables. This is part of a set of eight dining chairs in local elm with upholstery by Northgate Interiors.

Some steam bending this week. I have an order for a super -sized standard lamp. It needs a house with high ceilings but it is looking rather elegant. It will look even more elegant with one of Lesley's shades - watch this space!
A bit of work in progress on some oak panel doors for a fitted wardrobe. The strange triangular door is the accommodate a coombed ceiling. The pattern matching in the veneer worked pretty well though.
A bit of experimentation with steam bending and twisting wood today. I've done a fair bit of steam bending, but never like this. Wood is twisted 90 degrees across the grain after being in the steamer all day. Hopefully this will feature in an upcoming project. Is is practical? Probably not - but it is really cool
A bit of work in progress on an oak table base. I'm very fond of putting a curve or two into my work so a round table base with S Curve legs appeals to me quite a lot. The base is being made for a client who has a mosaic table top but I'm thinking it would work well with a glass top. Might have to.
The wooden sink has been needing a cabinet for quite a while. Doors and drawer fronts are made from stacked birch ply. Quite like the effect. Just need a house to put it in now #bespokefurnitur e #scottishfurnitu remakersassocia tion #woodensink
