Chartered Architects in Portrush | Bespoke Residential & Commercial Design
Williams Creative Design was established in 2010, transitioning to full-time operations in 2015. Based in Portrush, we specialise in creating meaningful, site-specific architecture that prioritises sustainability and user-centric design. Our portfolio spans residential dwellings, ecclesiastical projects, and commercial spaces, reflecting our commitment to contextual integrity and innovative solutions. Led by Mike Williams, a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA) chartered professional, we combine academic excellence with practical expertise. Mike holds a BSc, BA (Hons), and MArch (Distinction) from Dundee University, alongside professional qualifications from Queen's University Belfast. Our approach balances creativity with functionality, ensuring each project enhances its environment and meets the unique needs of its users. We embrace challenges across diverse scales, from single-family homes to complex church extensions, maintaining a personal service that values collaboration and precision. Our work in residential architecture includes contemporary reinterpretations of traditional Irish Clachans, while commercial projects like Veloculture in Portrush demonstrate our ability to integrate accessibility and aesthetic coherence. Ecclesiastical commissions highlight our sensitivity to heritage, as seen in church extension feasibility studies that harmonise new interventions with historic structures. We prioritise sustainability through material selection and passive design strategies, ensuring longevity and environmental responsibility. Clients benefit from our hands-on approach, with direct engagement from concept to completion. Our accolades include successful transformations of derelict properties and innovative retail spaces that balance commercial appeal with architectural integrity. With a focus on timeless design principles, we strive to create spaces that enrich lives and communities.

Residential Architecture
We create tailored residential spaces that balance modern living needs with environmental sensitivity. Our approach prioritises natural light, spatial flow, and material sustainability. Projects range from new builds to renovations, ensuring each home reflects its occupants' lifestyle while respecting local architectural vernacular.
Church Extensions
Specialising in ecclesiastical projects, we design extensions that harmonise with historic structures while meeting contemporary functional needs. Our work maintains spiritual atmosphere through material continuity and spatial reverence, incorporating modern accessibility standards without compromising heritage integrity.
Commercial Design
We craft commercial environments that enhance brand identity and customer experience. From flexible retail layouts to multi-functional hospitality spaces, our designs optimise circulation, lighting, and material durability. Projects integrate branding elements with practical considerations for operational efficiency.
Feasibility Studies
We conduct comprehensive feasibility assessments for proposed developments, evaluating site potential, regulatory compliance, and cost viability. Our reports provide strategic recommendations to maximise project success while addressing technical constraints and planning requirements.
Sustainable Design
Our sustainable approach incorporates passive design strategies, energy-efficient systems, and locally sourced materials. We prioritise thermal performance, natural ventilation, and lifecycle analysis to create environmentally responsible buildings that reduce operational costs and ecological impact.
