Fed up with your old bathroom? Why not upgrade it to a brand spanking new one with modern, up to the minute furniture, sanitary ware and with wetwall panels available in every colour and style, you are sure to find something to suit your personality. Traditional styles are always available if that's your preference. Go on you deserve it. However you choose to describe it, if you want an environmentally friendly system that also saves you money on your heating bills, you've come to the right place.

Ed Scallan has been in the plumbing and heating trade for 40+ years. He and his small team of specialist engineers, including son David, are certificated to install & service Gas, Oil & LPG systems as well as multi fuel & wood burning stoves. Designing and installing renewable energy systems since 2006 Scallan Renewables really is your Alternative Energy Specialist.

To make sure you get the best air source heating system for your circumstances we will provide design options using equipment from the following manufacturer.

Ground source heat pumps use a buried ground loop which transfers heat from the ground into a building to provide space heating and, in some cases, to pre-heat domestic hot water. Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating systems, or warm air convectors and hot water in your home. Pellet stoves are designed to heat on demand so when a room or heating system reaches the correct temperature they switch off saving fuel and giving a more comfort.

Installing a renewable energy system is not a decision you can make lightly. Sure, it would be ideal to contribute to the conservation of the worlds natural resources while saving money on your bills, but the initial cost can be a sticking point. You perhaps already have a good understanding of the outlay more than paying for itself in the long term but did you know there are various schemes to help you get started? This section of our website will help provide information on the possible financial assistance that is available for renewable energy support.

Scallan Renewables are a Worcester Accredited Installer (WAI) which means Worcester products, which include boilers, will be installed to the highest standard. The products themselves are first class too. Every single Greenstar gas-fired condensing boiler from the range, has been awarded a Which? Best Buy rating (correct as of November 2015). Boilers account for about 55 per cent of what you spend in a year on energy bills, so an efficient boiler makes a big difference. Modern boilers are more efficient for several reasons, but their main advantage is that they are all condensing boilers.

Solar water heating systems, or ‘solar thermal' systems, use free heat from the sun to warm domestic hot water. A conventional boiler or immersion heater can be used to make the water hotter, or to provide hot water when solar energy is unavailable. Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to heat up water which is stored in a hot water cylinder. A boiler or immersion heater can be used as a back-up to heat the water further to reach the temperature you want.

One of the major advantages of underfloor heating is the way in which it can be successfully combined to work with heat pumps. Concentrated heat can be delivered by a heat pump to provide domestic hot water up to 60C while feeding the floor heating system at a lower efficient temperature. Our underfloor heating systems are designed to optimise the efficiency of heat pumps so not only is your renewable energy heating system more efficient overall, it is delivering a constant, controlled heat and can help reduce running costs and your carbon footprint at the same time.

Ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) use pipes which are buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems and hot water in your home. A ground source heat pump circulates a mixture of water and antifreeze around a loop of pipe, called a ground loop, which is buried in your garden. Heat from the ground is absorbed into the fluid and then passes through a heat exchanger into the heat pump. The ground stays at a fairly constant temperature under the surface, so the heat pump can be used throughout the year.

Most UK homes that don't have a boiler and radiators have electric storage heaters. These heat up overnight using cheaper off-peak electricity, and give out the heat during the day. If you have storage heaters, you will probably have a hot water cylinder heated by one or two immersion heaters. Electric storage heating is more common in flats, rented property, and in homes with no mains gas connection. It is one of the most expensive heating options in the UK, and it emits more carbon dioxide than most systems.

The Wave is a smart, internet-connected programmable control for central heating and hot water which can be operated using a smart phone or tablet. The Wave's innovative programming enables it to have an ‘intelligent conversation' with the boiler and take advantage of advanced control features such as weather and load compensation. The Wave's intuitive and modern design ensures it is very simple to operate using either its in-built touchscreen or via the Wave app. Simply download the Wave app to your compatible device to take control of your heating system from anywhere in the world where an internet connection is available.

Been dealing with them for years and always had great service but they went into overdrive for my daughter last week when the heat exchanger decided.

Fantastic service. Efficient, professional and informative. Delighted with the results. Many thanks.

An excellent company - I would definitely recommend their work.
