After serving my apprenticeship I trained at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and later worked as a Head Gardener with the National Trust for Scotland. I established Wild at Heart Gardening in 1996. The alpine meadows of the Alps and the stylistic simplicity of Japanese Gardens are a particular source of inspiration. As a plantsman gardener, my skill is selecting the ideal plants for whatever conditions exist in your garden - be it dry or damp, sunny or shady. Our pond has made a huge difference to our garden and has brought in so much more wildlife and it looked as if it had always been there within about six months.

I'll work with you to understand what you like (and don't like) and what you need from your garden space. Once you are happy with my design idea, I'll set to work creating your new garden or enhancing your existing one. I'll consult with you every step of the way & whether to choose materials for a patio or to discuss the merits of particular plants I'm proposing to use. That way, when your garden is complete, you'll be delighted with the end result. Rock and alpine gardens are ideal if your garden is on a sloping site.
