After many years in the flooring industry I became more and more frustrated with the shortfall in the service that many people were receiving when trying to source the right flooring for a particular project. The only solution was to open my own showroom and try to provide a quality service that was as good as it possibly could be. The showroom at The Refinery, Blythe Street, is next door to David Scott Tiles who has built his reputation on providing a quality service and sourcing the best products possible.

A few people have a natural flair for interior design, many people wrongly assume they have! My advice to anyone who is considering a project of any size even redecorating a room is to have a chat with an interior designer. Thankfully many of the UK's leading Designers live here in N Ireland. Having worked with many over the years I am always impressed with their ability to pull together schemes with floorcoverings, paint colours, fabrics, wallpaper and furniture. Designers spend countless hours researching interior fashions and trends around the world and as a result can always offer innovative ideas that most of us wouldn't have considered.

Usually when a client is selecting a floor covering, either carpet or wood, colour has the highest importance, then quality and suitability, so my job is to source the correct product ensuring that not only is the colour right, but also its type, material, style, durability, feel and look, is what the client wants. There are so many types of carpets. Axminsters, velvets, twists, loops, saxonys, and many varied materials used in their manufacture. Wool, natural fibres, manmade fibres and mixtures of these as well.

Ongoing research and innovation along with a strong focus on quality have made Quickstep one of the top players in the flooring industry. Their unique "click system" is patented, and used by many other manufacturers. Quicksteps Parquet range offers a huge selection of colours, finishes and plank sizes in real wood floors. The laminate and vinyl ranges offer extensive options in colour, size and design. Extremely hard wearing and waterproof systems, with skirtings, trims and underlay from Quickstep to compliment the entire range.

Founded in 1938 by George Walter Wilson in Northern Ireland and still privately owned by the family. Always a favourite with customers across the UK and Ireland, Carpets Belfast, Ulster has always been known for its quality. The design team are constantly creating exciting modern traditional and contemporary designs to suit all tastes. Designed and manufactured in the heart of the midlands since the 18th century, Brintons blends together a quintessential mix of individuality and originality with an archive steeped in pattern and print history.

The best selection of carpets available anywhere. John provided a brilliant service from start to finish. My stairs and landings have turned out even better than expected. Highly recommended.

John is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. That, coupled with a vast selection of flooring to choose from, makes Hamilton Flooring an easy place to do business. Super premises too!

What's new?
