Brendan Donaghey of Passive House NI Ltd hails from a background with over fifty years' experience in the construction industry. Despite recessionary times we have continued to grow and expand by continually embracing new technologies such as external insulation with projects completed throughout Ireland. Our designers are an independent research-based consultancy and training organisation, with many years of experience, offering expertise in Passive House Design and Construction and areaccredited by the Passivhaus Institut Darmstadt, Germany.

It is well documented that solar panels will give you free hot water from the sun practically all year round, bringing with it a financial saving. More reliance on Solar Panels decreases air pollution and doesn't require the burning of fossil fuels, thus reducing your carbon footprint. Solar panels not only heat your water but can also heat your home.

It makes senses that we should utilise this valuable natural resource. In the most basic form of this technology, rainwater is collected in simple vessels at the edge of the roof. Variations on this basic approach include collection of large volumes of rainwater in gutters which drain to the collection vessel through down-pipes constructed for this purpose, and/or the diversion of rainwater from the gutters to containers for settling particulates before being conveyed to the storage container for the domestic use.

Passive House NIsupply windows designed with nine chambers, as opposed to the standard three or five chamber window, providing a better thermal performance. These come with either 28mm double glazing or 44 mm triple glazing giving a good thermal and acoustic performance. These windows will enhance any property whether it be a period residence or a newly built home. Residence 9 come in a wide range of colours and colours can be mixed, i.e. external colour doesn't have to be the same as the internal finish.
