Timber fencing should last at least twenty years (the life of a wooden fence post). We use pressure treated 4 fence posts and 40kg of concrete per post. This construction method will withstand the hurricane winds we are often exposed to north of the border. We can construct decking with either wood or plastic composite. Wood requires to be power-washed and sealed every year with decking sealant (not fence paint!) if it is to remain in good condition. If this is not done it can retain water and become slimy and unsafe to walk on and will also rot more quickly.
