Foliage Planting Design is owned by Alison MacDonald who is a qualified horticulturist and garden designer. Based in Edinburgh. Alison has a wide knowledge of plants and offers a flexible approach to soft landscaping and planting design projects, big or small. Using plants Alison can transform your garden into an attractive space. Plants can enhance your property and surroundings. Ideally your garden should give you enjoyment throughout the seasons and good planting just gets better with time, giving you something interesting to look at all year round.

Alison studied Horticulture at Oatridge College and gained an HNC with distinction in 2005 & went on to achieve a Diploma in Garden Design from the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh in 2008. She has worked at Kevock Garden Plants, just outside Edinburgh for 5 years where she has gained an in-depth knowledge of plants and was involved in many planting design projects, both big and small. Alison offers a complete planting design and horticultural consultation service in Edinburgh and Central Scotland for homeowners, landscapers, housebuilders and architects.
