Box Sash Windows
Our box sash windows combine traditional craftsmanship with modern performance. Each window is handcrafted using time-tested joinery techniques while incorporating energy-efficient glazing and draft-proofing systems. We replicate historical profiles exactly or create new designs that complement period architecture. The windows undergo rigorous quality checks before installation by our specialist fitting teams, ensuring perfect operation and longevity. Clients benefit from enhanced thermal efficiency without compromising authentic aesthetics.
Casement Windows
Tailored casement windows offer bespoke solutions for both period and contemporary properties. We manufacture to exact specifications, including custom shapes, sizes, and finishes. Our windows integrate modern security features and advanced hardware while maintaining traditional construction methods. The result is a seamless blend of heritage appearance with improved insulation and weather resistance. Each installation includes precise fitting to ensure optimal functionality and visual harmony with the building's architecture.
Hardwood Doors
Our hardwood doors are crafted to combine security, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Available in traditional four-panel designs or fully custom configurations, they feature multi-point locking systems and draught-proofing technology. We match existing architectural styles or create unique entranceways using premium timber materials. The doors are finished with protective treatments that enhance longevity while maintaining natural wood characteristics, providing both functional performance and striking visual impact.
Window Refurbishment
Specialist refurbishment services restore historic windows to full functionality while preserving original features. We repair damaged components, replace rotten sections with matching timber, and upgrade hardware for improved operation. The process maintains architectural integrity while extending the lifespan of existing joinery. Clients benefit from cost-effective preservation solutions that maintain property character while achieving modern performance standards through draught-proofing and secondary glazing options.
Door Restoration
Our door restoration service revitalises period doors while maintaining historical accuracy. We repair structural damage, replace missing elements with matching timber, and upgrade hardware for enhanced security. The process includes careful surface preparation and finishing to restore original appearance. Clients receive fully functional doors that retain their heritage character while incorporating modern improvements like weather sealing and reinforced locking systems for improved performance.

We are delighted with our new hand made door from Bowden. From start to finish our experience was of a first class service in terms of both the door quality and customer care. A lovely bunch of guys who cared about everything they did despite having to accommodate our electrical supply changes needed to enable a new frame to be installed. We can highly recommend Bowden as an differentiated independent company offering exceptional quality and customer care.

Exceptional service from start of project to the end. Five hardwood external doors - including one with side lights, and one a stable door. Absolute top quality and delighted with the results. A company that exceeds all expectations.
