Poplars is an independent family run business with strong, local knowledge. Situated just off the M1 at Junction 12, we are ideally located for all your home & gardening needs. Our motto of quality, value, choice & service begins the very moment you drive into our car park and our aim is that you will leave having received the best of each! With a vibrant and enthusiastic Management team striving to bring you, our valued customer, the best products available and the knowledge to go with it. We are constantly sourcing new and exciting lines to keep up to date with the latest trends.

Poplars Garden Care Department has everything you need to nurture and care for your garden. For novice gardeners, we have an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team with many years of garden retail experience, who are always keen to give help and advice to our customers. For the more experienced gardening enthusiasts, we have a fantastic range of gardening and propagation tools and just about everything else you could possibly need to make your garden grow! Our stock changes with the seasons so we always have exactly what you need, including a range of seeds and bulbs, watering equipment, bird care, garden chemicals, garden tools, timber care, outdoor clothing, plant support systems, hanging basket accessories and much, much more.

We really don't shout enough about the fantastic savings that can be made on many of our slate, chippings, paving & rockery stone ranges. Add slate or pebbles to flower beds and borders for a fresh, contemporary look.

Bedfordshire Hot Tubs are located in our Leisure Department and they have the largest selection of Jacuzzis within a 50 mile radius. From the Classic Collection through to the Ultimate J-500 range, all are available for viewing. Their Specialist Team are there to help and if you bring your swimsuit you can wet test the model of your choice. 5.20pm Mon-Sat & 4.30pm Sundaystherefore access to the garden centre and Bedfordshire Hot Tubs will not be possible after this time.

Outside in our garden landscaping area you will find everything you need to help transform your outdoor space. We have a fantastic range of slate & chippings, with an example of each displayed in containers so you can see the exact size and colour you are buying. We also have walling, edging, paving stones, stepping & rockery stones all out on display for you to see. And for those larger garden & building products, we stock Build Mate, a range of sands, cement & sub base. Our extensive range of compost includes Levington, Miracle-Gro, Westland & New Horizon.

At Poplars we are making great efforts to reduce our Carbon Footprint and to do our bit to help the environment and the world in which we all live. We have createdWadelows Nature Reserveon the field behind the Garden Centre to provide diverse habitats for many different types of Wildlife. Our fleet of vehicles has reduced from three to one and we actively encourage our staff to car share. We source the majority of our plants from UK growers. We offer a range of peat free composts and our growers are steadily reducing the volume of peat they use in their own compost mixes.
