You will find a unique role at each one of our inspiring, exciting and rewarding historic places where no two days are ever the same. We are constantly seeking a range of skills and talents to help us create experiences that bring the story of England to life for our visitors. At each of our places you will find various roles from Gardeners to Site Managers, and from Beach Rangers to Hands on History Crew. Throughout the year we regularly recruit for Visitor Assistant, Catering Assistant and Membership Recruiter roles at most of our places on a permanent and seasonal basis.
Conservation is a cornerstone of everything we do at English Heritage. Our experts conserve and maintain over 400 historic buildings and monuments, their associated gardens and landscapes, and half a million artefacts. Learn more about the work we do, including some of our recent on-site projects, research, and our practical guidance for conservation. 2021 will see our Conservation Camper's first journey. This specially equipped van will travel to many of our sites from April to October, providing a host of hands-on conservation workshops for all ages.
Had an absolute fantastic day at the abbey today well worth a visit, wonderful staff made us and our two dogs very welcome. Great parking, fabulous shop plus tastings and were able to visit everything the abbey, the battlefields and the museum. Then to round it off and we had ice creams and a fresh bowl of water from the reception staff for the dogs. Thank you.
Stonehenge was given to the commission of works, for the benefit of the nation. In the deed of gift it states that if you do have to pay, it should be no more than a shilling. That upon payment you should be allowed unfettered access into the monument, English Heritage claim they cannot allow this to protect the monument. But if you pay them 60+, then they will allow you into the centre. If we can't enter on paying 20, then how can they allow access into the monument for 60+. Either you can't let anyone into the centre to protect it, or admit that it is about money and not protection. Not worth the money
We love English heritage, we have been members nearly a year and I am a English heritage member panellist. It's worth every penny! We are a family of five and our girls range from 7 years to 12 years. They love seeing how the English heritage bring history alive! We have saved so much becoming members, we would highly recommend it! Our eldest is also disabled and relies on her wheelchair, every place we have visited always tries to accommodate for her needs and the staff are always extremely helpful. The events held at these sites are always well done and managed, we have just recently been to the medieval mayhem at Richmond castle which was fab a big thank you to the Warwick warriors We would recommend visiting the English heritage sites to any one who wants to see our amazing history and see it bought to life in the most amazing settings. Our favourite has to be Rievaulx abbey as it's close to home, very tranquil, yummy cake and wonderful staff, but we can say that everywhere we go, we love # thank you from the langdale family - the English heritage fans
