At Acorn Windows we firmly believe in giving back something to the local community, without whom we would not have succeeded since we started way back in 1989. This may involve installing windows at no charge or helping out with a charity or community project. Secured by Design is the UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of "designing out crime" by use of effective crime prevention and security standards for a range of applications.
All of our composite doors have concealed glazing fixings meaning there are no unsightly plug holes where the glass is situated. Our locks are also built to conform to the 'Secured by Design' Police Preferred Specification for real peace of mind.
We were the first local company to be approved by the BFRC - the British Fenestration Ratings Council. BFRC is the UK's national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows and is recognised within the Building Regulations.

Double brush seals around the frame and interlocks ensure that you are protected from the elements. Double glazed glass units help reduce external noise and keep the heat inside your home. Aluminium low threshold with ramp option, enabling easy access for wheelchair users. Unique dual purpose anti-lift/sash stabilising trim which increases security and assists in smooth location of lock into keep plate.

In many cases planning permission is not required but we are always on hand to advise and would never carry out any work without obtaining the relevant authority from your local planning office.
The range available is extremely versatile, with a wide range of profiles for vertical and diagonal designs, as well as horizontal applications. In a choice of brilliant white or conker brown, you can create a stylish effect which will maintain its attractive appearance for years. The Fascia is the long, straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof. It is fixed directly to the roof trusses and usually does all the strong arm work of supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying all the guttering.

We had two windows replaced by Acorn Windows yesterday. Excellent service from the two fitters who came to the property and our new windows look fantastic. No complaints and we will definitely be using Acorn windows again.

Following a competitive quote from James, we were visited by David who surveyed our requirements and then by Jason and Craig who installed new front and back doors. Despite a small hiccup when our order was lost and then we had to chase the surveyor, all other interactions with Acorn have been good. This is the only reason I’ve given them 4/5 for ‘customer service’. If I was rating the actual surveyor who did the work and the fitters themselves, they would have received 5/5. The work carried out by two fitters, in particular, was first class. They were courteous, tidy and friendly. They turned up on time and just got on with the work required without any fuss. We’ve used Acorn now to have a conservatory built, new windows and now new doors. We would definitely recommend them as a reliable, competitive and trustworthy company.

After having three quotes from Double Glazing firms for fitting five sash windows we chose Acorn. Being able to visit their Nottingham showroom was very helpful. We also had a personal recommendation from neighbours. Acorn were not the cheapest quote but the service and quality of the product was outstanding. Father and son, Dave and Brad fitted our windows and we can't praise them highly enough. They clearly came with many years of experience. Work was finished to a very high standard and they cleared up very carefully after the days work and consulted closely with us. We will be having Acorn back to complete the double glazing of the house next year and have asked that Dave and Brad return to undertake that work.

We have just had 3 upstairs rooms fitted with uPVC sliding sash windows and a composite door fitted by Acorn. Thank you Matthew and Lewis, you have done a great job and left the house as clean and tidy as when you arrived. Thanks to the office team too, you have kept us fully informed from first contact. This is the third time we have used Acorn and have been absolutely delighted on each occasion.

We needed new entrance doors at our Scout Hall and obtained 3 quotations. I was delighted to see Acorn gave us the best quotation because when they had rebuilt my conservatory at home 12 years earlier they did a great job at an excellent price. There sales pitch was not “hard sell”, genuinely knowledgeable and friendly. The double, outward opening doors were fitted on a day that suited out usage of the Hall. The fitters were polite and careful and cleaned up thoroughly. It was a delight to be able to recognise people who had worked on my conservatory 12 years ago...and they were still working for Acorn.
