Allways Timber Frame is a family owned company, formed by Chris & Peter Stringer to provide a quality Timber Frame service to Self-Builders, Architects and Developers, highlighting the need for good quality and sustainable forms of construction in the region. Reputation swiftly led to Allways Timber Frame being employed to work closely with architects to provide a solution, to build the first Passivhaus school in the country. This experience further cemented our belief to help our customers to 'personalise' each project to suit their needs and desires.
Timber is a natural product, it gives a very natural look especially if elements of oak are included in the build and only timber from sustainable sources are used with Allways Timber Frame having full chain of custody PEFC certification so you can be assured that your build is sustainable. It is well known that a well insulated house uses less energy and your energy bills are greatly reduced. Timber is also a natural insulating material and when used as a frame allows more space for insulation in various forms reducing the need for energy and fossil fuels, the result being a reduction in green house gases.
The real advantage of off-site fabrication is the speed of the erection on site, so getting the kit right is a priority. Our factory in Clavering, Essex, is large enough to cope with most developer's needs; our members of staff are skilled and experienced to cope with all designs. Internal panels are manufactured using 38 x 89 mm CLS (Canadian Lumbar Standard) structural timber studs, set out at 600 mm nominal centers unless 400 mm nominal centers are required for loading baring walls. Typically, a standard system would be open panel, varying in thickness to suit thermal and structural requirements.
