Since opening its doors in September 2011 The House In Town has been going from strength to strength, all thanks to our amazing customers. In January 2020 we opened our second shop, further down the street at no. 33. We are an independent retailer situated in the bohemian St. Peters Street, close to the Ipswich Waterfront. The street is home to other great shops such as the famous Maud's Attic, and Merchant House Interiors. With access to over 100,000 items we offer far far more than you will see in the shop (or on this website), so you only have to ask or come and look at our brochures.
By far my favourite shop in the world ever! Unique beautiful items stunningly presented and John gave us such a warm welcome. Was our first visit but definitely won't be our last!
The photographs do not do justice to the huge array of unique merchandise! There are SO many fabulous items in this shop; that I need to win the lottery and move house; just so I can furnish every room out of the displays in this fabulous shop! I rarely go to town; so only visit if I am at the Dentists opposite.it make a trip to the Dentist much more bearable knowing I will get a few minutes in The House In Town.
What I love about this independent shop is that no two visits are the same. It's an exciting, inspiring and welcoming space with a lovely atmosphere. If you are looking for a large retail area of high street items, this is not for you. This is a very clever cluster of unique spaces dressed up as a home. The House in Town is the perfect name. I'd highly recommend a visit. many times.
