Just had a lovely couple of hours here, started with an english breakfast which was hot and tasty in a spotlessly clean restaurant and then a stroll around the huge garden centre. This is by far the best garden centre in Bristol with loads of staff on hand to help and the best selection of plants/shrubs/ trees etc to choose from and the drive through compost pick up point is an excellent addition. We never leave empty handed.
This was my first visit. I'm 27 and went with my mother in law. I was super impressed with the range of items inside and the lovely designs on gardening equipment.
I have been visiting Almondsbury garden centre for many years and always enjoyed the experience but hadn't been since the alterations. My husband and I visited this morning and thought we might try a breakfast. After waiting in a queue of four people for twenty minutes we began to doubt the wisdom of this which was confirmed when our cappuccinos were found to be at best luke warm. After waiting forty minutes for the breakfast ordered in a restaurant that was less than a third full I approached one of the waiters and explained I had been waiting all this time he said he would go and check. Shortly after we saw him delivering meals to other people without returning any information to us. After about another five minutes I managed to attract his attention again where he informed us they were just waiting on eggs and would be with us directly. Eventually after a further ten minutes our breakfast was finally dropped on the table with a mumbled apology and he was off. I then noticed that neither my husbands or my toast had any trace of butter and that my husbands breakfast was missing bacon and tomatoes and that the mushrooms on both our breakfasts were raw and that both breakfasts were virtually cold. My husband then called a lady waitress that was very sorry for the state of our meals and did offer to arrange new meals but we just did not have enough time to wait for fresh meals, she did however get us two complementary cappuccinos but unfortunately these were also cold. All in all a very disappointing experience.
