We are a small family run business with a long history in bench hand joinery, more recently specialising in sliding sash windows. Our workshop, where we manufacture all of our products, is in Warth Mill, Diggle in the heart of Saddleworth. Saddleworth Sash Windows is run by Michael Howe who has over 25 years joinery experience, passed down from his own father Jack Howe. Michael worked alongside his father for many years and is now passing on the knowledge to his new apprentice and own son, Tom. At Saddleworth Sash Windows, we can manufacture any timber products sourced from any type of sustainable wood.
We can repair and restore your traditional sash windows. Depending on the condition of the window it may be viable to restore the original; we can do this by: Renewing parting beads with draft proofing Renewing staff beads with draft proofing Re-attaching weights Replacing ropes and pulleys Replacing window furniture Replacing the sashes if outer. Most original traditionalsash windows were made using single glazing and can be very energy in-efficient. Single glazing can also be a security risk. Depending on the condition of your sash windows, wemay be able to replace single glazing with a double glazed unit.
