If you have a honey bee colony in an inaccessible place such as a chimney, we can put you in touch with a specialist relocation service who will discuss the options with you - just email enquiries@pestprofessionals.co.uk. We will also only ever consider eradication of bumble bees as an absolute last resort in rare situations such as where life can be demonstrated to be in danger or if important work cannot be completed without action being taken, and we will always look at relocation first.

Bed bugs are a rapidly growing problem in the UK both in domestic and paid-for accommodation environments. They are expert hitch hikers and if you start getting bitten in your sleep soon after staying away from home or in a new property, they could be the cause. Bed bugs like to live close to their blood meal. They have a flat profile and can harbour in the tiniest of cracks and crevices between joints in the bed or bedroom furniture, or behind headboards. The seams of mattresses are another favourite harbourage point and bed bug mattress encasements should be considered as a measure to cut down on bites quickly.

Although spiders do a plenty of good by way of natural insect control, in particular predating on over-wintering queen wasps, there is no question that there is a general fear of them. In one or two cases you absolutely don't want them around, and one of those is the case of the false widow spider. This spider is certainly ‘on the march' in the UK and although most reports have the tendency to be from the Southern Counties, reports are popping up from other areas too, including Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk.

If you are in need of wasp nest pest control for your home or business, Pest Professionals can help. We can usually provide a qualified pest control operative same or next day and in many cases our wasp nest treatment services are fully guaranteed. The common wasp lives in colonies which grow throughout the summer and can cause serious alarm when present in larger numbers or when colonies are close to humans. Many thousands of wasps can serve a single queen and commonly their nests are concealed in hard-to-reach places, sometimes underground or in cavities in properties of loft spaces.

Pigeons, jackdaws and certain gulls are three of the bird species that we as pest controllers have to deal with the most. They can not only cause a noise, nuisance and mess, they can also block guttering and chimney flues, and can cause expensive damage to loft and roof spaces if they are able to access them. Feral pigeons in particular can also be a significant health hazard and can spread serious diseases including Salmonella and E.Coli through their waste. There are other reasons why control may be absolutely necessary as well.

There are over a million different insect species on the planet, and in various forms they can bite, sting and spread disease. Beetles, lice, moths, spiders, wood lice, sliver fish, carpet beetles, flies, wasps, ants, fleas, cockroaches, bed bugs and parasites are all insects we commonly deal with. Whatever the problem, we can help. Identification is the first step, after which we can move forward with advice on how best to tackle the issue. A strong knowledge of entomology and professional strength insecticides is needed to swiftly and effectively deal with insect outbreaks, as different insects require different products and a different approach.
