F & C Electric was formed in 1962 by Fred Grimsley and Cyril Chew after the demise of Surplice's Electrical Contractors. Work taken over from Surplice's included the electrical floodlighting of the Royal Windsor Horse Show and past customers have also included The White Hart Hotel, St Brigiddine Convent School, Oxley's Printers, Corbys of Windsor, Grawaters Veriflex. Planned Maintenance Engineering and many more including numerous local builders. Berkshire County Council soon followed and there was hardly a school in Windsor and Maidenhead that F & C Electric Ltd hadn't worked in.
