Storm water drains in particular become clogged with silt over time causing localized flooding when it rains. Ironically the solution is more water, but driven through our high pressure water jet at up to 4,000 p.s.i. to clear out all the debris and flush the drains through, returning them to full bore operation. Household waste ("foul") drains benefit greatly too from cleaning in this way, as they can be greatly reduced in diameter and efficiency by the build up of grease and scale. In older properties there is only one combined drainage system for both household waste and storm water, potentially doubling the problem.

Whatever the cause Blocksaway Drains have the solutions ranging from specialised implements fitted to drainage rods, electro-mechanical worm equipment with a range of cutters or high pressure water jetting at up to 4,000 p.s.i. to remove the blockages and give the drainage system a good flush through.

The CCTV drain camera system is a hugely important weapon in the armoury of Blocksaway Drains and can be of huge benefit to our clients. In the past the only way to check the condition of a drain or the reason for it continually blocking was to dig it up at great expense. Now Blocksaway Drains can propel a self-levelling camera with very effective led lighting up to 80 yards up a drain (4 diameter and above) and record defects on a DVD together with their location so that our clients can better plan how to overcome any problems or be assured they have a fully functioning drainage system.

Our drain clearing services are tailored to your specific requirements. As you may have already read, when we attend a call out we carry rodding, high pressure water jetting and CCTV equipment as standard and do not charge separately for use of the various tools and equipment used. This means we can if required deploy CCTV inspection equipment straight away to determine the extent of any drainage problem and determine the best course of action to clear the drain as quickly as possible, keeping the cost to you down to a minimum.

Standard nozzles have 4 or 6 pencil jets at the rear to propel the hose forward up to 100 meters along the drain if necessary, the nozzle enters the blockage and the jets of water break up the offending obstruction. We also have nozzles with both pencil jets to the rear and one facing forward to break up any particularly difficult obstruction. However drain jetting is not just about clearing blockages; high pressure water jetting machines are also used to maintain and clean a system or to prepare a section of pipe for a drain repair.
