We are extremely grateful that the government has recognised the importance of gardening for people's mental and physical health and allowed garden centres to remain open. However, as we all move into a national lockdown together, our restaurant will unfortunately be closed. We have a full range of award winning cooked meats, homemade pies, pastries, ready meals and over 100 delightful cheeses including a great selection from local producers. Our cheese counter is packed with over 50 artisan cheeses from all over the world.
Lovely breakfast staff very helpful pointing out what you can have and alternatives, such a lovely atmosphere especially as it was the start of our holiday! Totally recommend!
Possibly the best afternoon tea I've had. plenty of sandwiches and cakes, with one of the largest scones I've ever seen. The service received was excellent and my father and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was even a takeaway box provided for us to take home the leftover cakes.
I bought my daughter over for a cream tea afternoon recently. The cream tea itself was fabulous with the fresh scone still warm and lovely and large. So much so that there was barely enough cream and jam for it. My only issue was that I cannot drink tea or coffee. Now I understand that, that's rare in this country but! Initially I said to the girl I couldn't, she seemed perplexed and it was obvious she just didnt believe me and said I would have to purchase a drink with it, after requesting to speak to the manager we were offered apple or orange juice. I was very grateful. Could the cafe which is lovely and serves good food with good portions perhaps be more flexible in its approach to people who have things they can't eat or drink. A simple other option of drink with the afternoon tea isn't hard. A substitute cold drink or hot chocolate would be nice. Try to be a little more open minded on people's diets guys, otherwise a great afternoon tea thankyou. And pleasant walk around the center.spent to much but hey.!
