Landscaping
We have been landscaping Rochdale gardens for decades! Groundworks and Landscaping are where it all began for J & J Groundworks as a business. Our expertise and experience are the foundations for our own reputation in the industry. Correct groundwork preparation is absolutely vital for all of our driveway, landscaping, patio and decking work. Well prepared groundwork sets the foundation for a professional looking and long-lasting finish. Professional landscaping sets out the design for your garden or driveway area and creates the blueprint for the beautiful outdoor space your home deserves. Landscaping can be carried out on new build sites and as a redesign process on existing plots.
Dry Stone Walling
At J and J Groundworks we are dry stone walling specialists. As an historic building method, dry stone walling is an art perfected over many years; you must work with the natural stones, using their variation in size and shape to traditionally craft a beautiful wall. We have over 10 years experience in the landscaping and groundworks the industry and our dry-stone walling specialist operatives have even more experience between them. You can trust J and J Groundworks and Landscaping to create a dry-stone wall that adds character and beauty to your outdoor space. Dry stone walling is also a perfect way to add terraces or raised beds to your garden space.
Fencing
Whether you are replacing existing fencing or installing new fencing on your property, J & J Groundworks can help. We offer a variety of fencing Rochdale options to suit all budgets. We install fencing on its own or we can include fencing as part of a larger landscaping project. The best choice of fencing depends on the size of your plot, privacy requirements, wind speed levels, the look you wish to achieve and the maintenance level you are committed to.
Indian Stone
J & J Groundworks & Landscaping specialises in Indian Stone installation in properties throughout Greater Manchester, including Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Heywood, and Whitworth. Indian Stone is a popular material for outdoor spaces, being used to create patios, driveways, pathways, and much more. Highly durable, Indian Stone is available in a range of colours and tones, making it easy to create a distinct and unique design.
York Stone Paving
There are few landscaping finishes as timeless or as popular as York Stone Paving and it is easy to see why. All of our York Stone Paving Rochdale projects use natural stone. Traditionally quarried in Yorkshire for centuries, York stone is a hard wearing and long-lasting material suitable for all outdoor areas. Available as new or reclaimed to suit your property. Suitable for driveways, patios, and pathways.
Cobbles and Cobblestone
Cobbles provide a traditional looking and hard-wearing surface for driveways, patios and paths. Cobbles Rochdale are an extremely durable and long-lasting material and were traditionally used as a road surface in years gone by due to these properties. Cobbles have been discovered in use as road surfaces in Europe from as early as the 3rd century so as a traditional choice, you wont be disappointed. A cobble stone surface is a beautiful addition to your home and is suitable for any area. We are experts in preparing your site and installing cobbles.
Decking
Garden decking Rochdale is a stylish addition to any outdoor space. As a modern alternative to a traditional patio, you cant go wrong with a professionally designed and installed decking area. The real wood decking we supply is all 100% natural wood and sustainably sourced. This allows you to choose from a wide variety of styles and colour options so the only limit is your own imagination.
Composite Decking
Composite Decking Rochdale is a newer type of decking and a great alternative to natural wood decking.
Benefits of Composite Decking:
Lower maintenance than natural wood no need to sand, stain or paint
Longer lasting than natural wood will not rot
Anti-slip sometimes natural wood can become slippery and more prone to moss growth, composite decking provides a solution to this issue

Turf
Whether you wish to install a new lawn area, replace, existing turf or enlarge an existing lawn, J & J Groundworks have the turf Rochdale solution for you. Reinstating a lawned area or adding a new lawned area to your garden is becoming increasingly popular in response to concerns over the destruction of natural habitats for insects and wildlife. A lawned area not only looks beautiful but it has benefits for the local insect and wildlife population. It is perfect for welcoming a variety of birds to your garden who will visit for the insects. Natural turf adds a traditional element to your garden. We provide a variety of turf types so you can choose the best fit for your garden conditions and use. Whether you have shade or full sun, football nets or want a bowling green finish we can advise on the most suitable option for you.
Artificial Grass
Installing artificial grass as an alternative to a traditional turf lawn is becoming an increasingly popular choice. If youre considering switching your old worn out lawn for an everlasting, hardwearing and evergreen alternative, youre certainly not alone.
Porcelain Patios
For porcelain patios Rochdale, look no further, we can help! A Porcelain Patio is the ideal way to add the wow factor to your outdoor space. Porcelain provides a modern and stunning look and not only that, it is also fantastically low maintenance making it the perfect choice for many people. It is strong and hard wearing and its appearance doesnt change over time so you can be sure of a beautiful patio for years to come. J and J Groundworks ensure that your porcelain patio is installed correctly and professionally to help prevent any cracking or chipping of your tiles over time and to ensure that there is a gradient for water run off so that there is no pooling or freezing water on your surface during winter months.
Resin Bound Driveways
Resin Bound Driveways are a relatively new addition to the landscaping industry and are one of the fastest growing outdoor surface solutions in the UK today. Resin technology has advanced over recent years to allow a UV resistant resin material which is hard wearing and suitable for driveways to be developed and used to bind gravel together so that it remains fixed in place for an even finish and instant kerb appeal.
