Thames Design & Build Ltd

We take care of full property renovations from the initial concept through to handover. Following a detailed site visit, we produce architectural plans for both structural and interior changes. Once approvals are in place, construction proceeds under dedicated management. Our unified approach helps ensure an efficient and well-organised renovation process.

We convert garages into functional rooms such as home offices, gyms, playrooms, bedrooms, and annexes. Each project starts with a thorough inspection of the existing structure. Our design team prepares comprehensive plans before work begins. From start to finish, we ensure the process is professionally managed.

We provide a complete loft conversion service tailored to your existing property. After discussing your plans, we create detailed architectural drawings and arrange any necessary approvals. We supply a fixed-price quotation covering the full scope of work. Throughout construction, we keep you informed at every stage.

Our side return extension service transforms narrow external spaces into practical and connected living areas. We take care of design, planning submissions, and construction under one roof. Every project is supported by coordinated trades and regular updates. Most extensions are particularly effective for terraced and semi-detached properties and take 1216 weeks to complete.

We create kitchen extensions that bring more space, natural light, and functionality into the heart of your home. Our team manages every stage, from design and approvals to construction and finishing works. A dedicated site manager oversees the project throughout. We can also arrange temporary kitchen facilities during the build.

We create rear extensions that provide homeowners with additional living space while avoiding the disruption of moving. From the initial concept to the completed build, we handle each element of the project. This includes structural work, plumbing, electrics, glazing, and finishes. Our goal is a cohesive extension that suits your home perfectly.

At Thames Design & Build Ltd, we take pride in delivering practical and well-considered design solutions. We carry out home extensions, loft conversions, renovations, and bespoke architectural projects. High standards of craftsmanship guide every commission. Our combined planning, design, and construction services support homeowners throughout the entire process.

Weve partnered with Thames Design & Build as subcontract carpenters and have consistently found them to be professional, organised, and detail-focused. Good communication and a strong standard of finish across their projects.

Thames Design & Build recently completed a wraparound extension and full ground floor reconfiguration at our detached home in Surbiton. The project created a stunning open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, plus a new utility room and downstairs shower room. The team handled everything from the architectural drawings to the final build, making what could have been a stressful process remarkably smooth.

Communication was excellent throughout - our project manager was always available and kept us updated at every stage. They delivered on time, stayed within the agreed budget, and the workmanship is first-class. The transformation has completely changed how we live in our home. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

We were really happy with our experience with Thames Design. We did a full house renovation which took around 10 months and throughout that time the team were consistently helpful, professional, and easy to work with. They kept the process feeling as smooth as possible and were always responsive when we had questions or needed support. There were a few minor issues along the way as youd expect with a large project, but everything was handled quickly and efficiently.

For example, we initially received the wrong front door from the supplier, but it was sorted out very promptly with no hassle. They were also great at offering recommendations such as bathrooms companies, moulding/cornice companies, carpets, door companies, which really helped us make decisions and achieve a result were very pleased with. We were also very happy with their chosen subcontractors such as electrician, plumbers and decorators.

Our quote came in on budget with any variances being due to changes we made. Based on the quality of work and service we received, we would definitely recommend the team and would use them again for future projects.

Rob Alison and his team built a single story extension to our home. I can recommend them as 100% reputable and reliable. The communication was excellent throughout the build, nothing was too much trouble for them.good people,a classy five star service of the first magnitude. And a special thank you to Saema who coordinated the project from beginning to end!

TD&B designed and built a wrap around single storey kitchen extension, installed a toilet and new bathroom and took out a chimney. We are really pleased with the work and all of the guys that worked on the job, who were friendly and professional throughout and mindful of our neighbours. The different specialists worked seamlessly together from our perspective. Our foreman Marlon in particular was exceptional in pulling the whole thing together and he is brilliantly solution- and customer- focussed.

We are very glad we picked TD&B . The contract and quote were very professional and transparent and the only variations were ones we expected or resulted from choices we made. All of the pricing, including variations, was very clear and the accounting speedy. Communication was great throughout. All finished on time too.

Thames Design and Build were a friendly, professional and committed company, working to the highest standards. We had a single storey ground floor extension and new veranda. We were delighted with the results and we would have no hesitation in giving a strong recommendation.

TDB designed and built a one storey wrap around extension for us and also refurbished two bathrooms. We were very pleased with quality of the work, which was completed in accordance with the contracted budget (although we did ask for a few extras on top, which meant additional cost). It was also completed in accordance with the agreed timescale with only a small overrun for completion of snagging. The site manager Ryan and his team were unfailingly pleasant and helpful and made a number of suggestions as the work progressed to enhance the original plan. Highly recommended.

We contacted Thames Design & Build to help us with a bathroom renovation. Declan and his team carried out the fitting and we are delighted with the finished bathroom. Everyone working on the renovation was friendly, professional and courteous and Declan was brilliant at communicating updates along the way.

Highly recommend Thames Design and Build. Just completed my kitchen extension and new patio and whole project was delivered on budget and on time. Rob was a fabulous project lead, the workmen were all lovely and highly skilled and I couldnt be happier with the end result.

When we needed to extend our ground floor, redesign the layout of the property, and do a hip-to-gable roof conversion we chose Rob and the team at Thames Design and Build. From the initial architect drawings, to the planning process, costings, project and supplier and specialist management, we were provided with excellent support. Ongoing communications and guidance throughout the project ensured that for our first build we were able to reduce the stress and uncertainty that comes along with such a big life decision. The project was finished on time and to a great spec. We would highly recommend Rob and the team for any home project - big or small.

Excellent company very proactive and professional approach to my requirements. Rear roof replaced and extension added. The team were so pleasant and a great find in james who ran the job. Tried to offer coffee and teas but they just wanted to "crack on! The boys were so tidy considering this is terraced house.

Thames Design & Build worked with us on our house renovation to produce the Design Drawings (with layout options) and Technical Drawings for planning and surveyor. Not only were the team incredibly knowledgeable and professional, they were an absolute pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to support us through what was a daunting and potentially stressful experience. Having such a credible team on board with us immediately put as at ease, meaning we could enjoy our exciting project - we knew we were in safe hands with them and they delivered! A huge thank you to Rob and his team!

Rob Allinson and the project team provided an extremely professional service from the drawing board through to completion of the works. The brief was set to provide a design and build solution for our loft that was in-keeping with the Edwardian house, and Thames Design & Build Ltd delivered the project to our exacting requirements. They managed the relationship and process with building control and were very proficient in transitioning design work into a high quality build. The work was completed on programme and to budget. We would have no hesitation in recommending Rob and the team.
