We believe that wood should reflect its origins of time and variation without the constraints of mass production. Exquisite wood flooring as it should be. Supplied & Installed by the UK's leading Antique wood professionals. We create the most beautiful New & Antique & Reclaimed Floorboards, Engineered Oak & solid Wood Flooring and Wall Cladding in the Marketplace. The unique finishes and patinas from our Floorboards are not only a statement of beauty but a statement of craftsmanship, a reflection of our commitment to push the limits of design and durability.

Growing up in England in the 1970's and 80's I remember sunny summers and snowy winters, not like the seasons we have now. I remember rolling green fields, streams, muddy marshes and a small number of family-run farms trading fresh eggs just 2 minutes from our house. I spent most of my free time outdoors & climbing up trees, around trees or inside them and over the years have I fostered a natural sense of tree kinship. My journey into wood flooring began in the late '90s as an apprentice learning the trade of Antique Wood Floor restoration from a local 3rd generation Master Craftsmen wood floor installer.

Supplying the most exquisite floors is not enough for us, we also like to install them. Choosing the best timber cuts, colours and finishes are part of the project, ensuring the life and stability of the floor is a major piece of the puzzle and should not be overlooked. Each property has its own issues whether it is subfloors, air conditioning or underfloor heating, we can offer full installation or project management services. The most important thing to consider is that wood flooring is a living and breathing material.

The beginnings of a beautiful new wood floor come from hand selected sustainable woodlands. We pride ourselves on sourcing our new European oak from specific forests that run across Northern Europe, we call our specific grade of new oak 'Mountain Oak'. Our Mountain oakis slower grown and shows rich and consistent character which is vital when supplying such large quantities of flooring and manipulating tannin levels within the oak itself. Over the years we have learnt that oak sourced from regulated forests where the trees are given time to mature are more suitable to our business.

We create patinas and natural colours through a variety of studied organic compositions that are exclusive to RFC. We believe that nature is untameable and that the wild spirit of wood should reflect its origins of time and variation without the constraints of excessive manufacturing. This aesthetic is achieved as the wood structures organically react and change colour within themselves rather than applying a flat wash of commercial stain, which is used predominantly in other wood flooring companies.

We are committed to sustainable living. Our pledge to you is that we will plant 1 tree for every 10m2 of wood flooring sold, let's give nature a helping hand. Thankfully these days, there are international, non-governmental organisations that promote the responsible management of forests. The leading authorities in this field are the PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and the FSC (the Forest Stewardship Council). All suppliers & operators supplying raw timber or timber products are enforced to store information on the supplier, buyer and product itself for a minimum of five years.

At the New & Reclaimed Flooring Company it's more than important for us to invest in a reforestation programme - it's essential. That's why we've partnered with the Timber Neutral Programme to undertake ongoing tree replanting projects. Our Timber Neutral programme provides a proactive and straightforward means of ensuring replanting takes place to ensure that all our products are truly sustainable. Timber Neutral was formed 10 years ago with the aim of establishing proactive certification and mitigation services that eliminate reliance on third-party approvals.
