We are a family-owned UK business with a longstanding history in the landscaping and gardening materials sector. Our company was built on a foundation of engineering expertise, with Paul Elston joining as an apprentice in 1963 at the age of 15. Paul progressed through the business, becoming a director by the late 1980s, before completing a management buyout to become sole owner in 2001. Ownership passed to Pauls children, Ian and Julia, in 2010 following a further management buyout, with Paul and his wife Sandra remaining active in operations. We established the Bowland Stone brand in the early 1990s, collaborating with independent concrete manufacturers to create a unified, nationally recognised paving range. In 2012, we acquired the Macclesfield-based Bowland Stone operation and integrated it into our Bristol headquarters.
Today, we are wholly family-owned and operated, supported by a dedicated management team. Our team combines decades of horticultural, landscaping and engineering expertise to serve every customer. Had trouble acquiring building materials from the bigger, larger DIY stores (treated disgustingly), stupidly forgot Bowland Stone, who's staff were so helpful, didn't see a problem with anything, order taken with delivery much, MUCH sooner, then increased order to which they agreed to put with original, thoroughly recommended
