Our staff carry PPE, Disinfectant solutions and wipes. We also disinfect the vehicles and swap out the protective furniture wraps for 72 hours after each move. We currently have set crews with mixed start times so that our staff mix with each other as little as possible. Every member of staff has their temperature monitored every morning and night using a infrared thermometer that does not require skin contact. We have provided training in the use of this equipment, guidance on good hand hygiene and the use of their disinfectants.
Propertymark (the National Association of Estate Agents) has spoken to a senior civil servant at the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) this morning. The civil servant stated that agents are not "essential businesses" under the new rules and therefore their view is that agents should close their offices immediately. Furthermore, they stated that there should not be any in-person viewings, routine inspections or house moves. MHCLG is still looking into property.
It is with regret that the Board of Directors have this morning taken the decision to temporarily close the business with immediate effect. The reason for this decision is the need to protect the health of the general public, our staff, our suppliers and our customers. We believe this is the best decision and we will follow the advice of both the Prime Minister and the British Association of Removers.
