Established in 1966, Powell Dobson is an architectural practice with offices in Cardiff, London and Swansea. We have developed expertise in a wide range of building types and sectors, from retail and leisure, through to schools, further/higher education, health and all types of residential and mixed use development. We provide an integrated service, complimented by our core commitment to embedding sustainable design principles in all our projects from inception.

Powell Dobson believes that there is no distinction between the building concept, fabric and interior. The concept should flow seamlessly from the macro scale through to the exterior fabric and into the interior environment. An in-house interior team enables this continuity of design approach to be realised in both our new-build projects and refurbishment and fit-out works. Our expertise ranges from the design of boutique hotels and bespoke interiors through to commercial offices, schools and sports facilities, as well as office space-planning and furniture selection.

Powell Dobson designs with selected external consultants to produce integrated design solutions for all our projects. Green infrastructure is fundamental to the design process and is considered from project inception to ensure continuity of design from concept to completion. Working closely with consultants that we have developed strong, close relationships with over many years, we have designed landscaping projects ranging from University masterplans through to private sector residential developments, with public realm design codes ensuring consistent implementation over the lifetime of the scheme.
