We specialise in the design, fabrication and installation of footbridges of all types and sizes- including Pedestrian only, Cycle / bridle way bridges and Vehicular access bridges - all designed and detailed to reflect their use, size and the aesthetic required. Depending on the type of scheme, we can offer design and build services or a more consultancy based role.
CTS are one of the market leaders and specialise in the design, construction and installation of foot bridges of all types and sizes- including Pedestrian only, Cycleways, Equestrian and Vehicular access bridges - all designed and detailed to reflect their use, size and the aesthetic required. CTS have an in-house team of bridge engineers comprising Chartered Civil and Structural Engineers to design the bridges that we subsequently fabricate in our factory in Yorkshire, Spans typically range from 3m simple timber kit bridges to 80m+ cable stayed steel bridge structures.
We offer a design, build and installation service or we can supply only components for others to fit on site. We employ our own experienced installation teams who operate nationwide. By incorporating our 'Hi-Grip Excel'™ Non-slip decking into the structures means that they are safe for general public use. Some of the types of bespoke structures we do are listed below.
CTS Hi Grip Plus and CTS Hi Grip Excel are polyurethane resin based products, combined with an aggregate. These systems comply with the requirements of BD 29/04, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges; Design criteria for footbridges - Part 8, to achieve a mean corrected pendulum test value of 45 units. Hi-Grip Decking is available in softwood, hardwood and FSC timbers and with three standard thickness 33mm x 45mm & 70mm. Each board is 145mm wide. We can supply the deck cut to length (Free of charge) or in random lengths.
CTS have four in house Chartered Civil and Structural engineers who can provide design drawings, calculations, Design Check Certificates and prepare AIP's for technical approval. All drawings are prepared using the latest CAD technology and are available in a variety of formats to suit customer requirements. CTS's extensive experience enables them to design bridges and structures using readily available material sizes thus avoiding costly wastage or 'over designed' components. Because CTS design the bridges that they manufacture the cost for design is absorbed/ incorporated in the final bridge cost.
CTS is a quality assured company as assessed and registered by SCCS to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Cert No Q327 for the Design, Manufacture and Installation of Bridges, Landscape Structures, Boardwalks, Decking, Lock Gates and Leisure Furniture and National Highway Sector Scheme NHSS20 Cert No 20-327 for the Execution of Steelwork in Transportation Infrastructure Assets. CTS is on the register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors - Certificate Number BWK 006 as approved by the Highways Agency. We are also registered with CHAS, Constructionline and Builders Profile.
