Most of the projects Capital A deal with are house extensions or internal alterations to family homes. Each project starts with an initial consultation, where we discuss your ambitions for the property as well as your budget and time-scales. Capital A will provide a detailed fee quote after the initial consultation and, if the terms are acceptable, a formal appointment contract will be signed before design work begins. While we can be flexible, most of our projects are house extensions and internal alterations located in Edinburgh, The Lothians, Fife and Dundee.

Just completed this modern garden room extension in Dalkeith, Midlothian. The original masonry walls were kept and the new building 'dropped' into the old structure. The original layout was a warren of wee rooms which have been transformed into one open plan kitchen / living / dining space.
I don't get into politics on my page but this idea deserves a mention. At present house extensions, alterations and repairs are subject to 20% VAT, while building a new house is effectively zero % VAT. The Scottish Government has written to the Chancellor of the Exquecher requesting VAT for domestic.
