Casement windows are hung on hinges and can be traditional flush/sunken style or storm proof windows. They both look great in any wood, but in our opinion the storm proof windows are the better ones for keeping out the weather due to the fact of the double rebate they have. We produce these windows with standard storm proof hinges or friction hinges. Our Bespoke doors are made to your designs and requirements, we produce doors of all shapes, sizes and styles in whatever wood you choose. All our external doors and frames have rubber draught excluders. We can produce fully bespoke doors to your specifications. Anything from our top specification double skinned and insulated TGV doors to duplex double glazed doors, even single glazing and slim-line units for conservation areas and listed building.
Sliding sash (box sash) windows are windows in which two glazed panels slide past each other to allow the window to open. Box sashes are very popular in older Georgian and Victorian buildings, giving them a lot of the buildings character. Over the years they have gained a reputation for being cold and draughty. This is no longer the case, at Bideford Joinery we use rubber parting slip and even fit a rubber seal to the bottom rail and meeting rails as standard, this combined with double glazing provides a perfect replacement with out the loss of character!
