Our blinds are made to measure, and handmade in our workroom, with traditional string or metal pully system to our exacting standards. We can help advise on the type of blind to suit your room. We make roman blinds with either traditional string, toggle and cleats or with the metal track runners and chain, benefits of string, or what I call the old Oxfordshire cottage look, is if the sting eventually goes or snaps, we can easily restring it, and rehang it for you, but if the metal runner and chain go, then that's a new roman blind kit, also I like to set the roman blinds up high, if there is enough space above the window to the ceiling line, so you don't loose the proportions of the window, and with our Northern light, we need to get as much light into the rooms as possible.

Within our workshop the time honoured traditions passed down through generations, preserves the pedigree of English furniture making at its finest. Established in 1994, in High Wycombe (home of English furniture making), producing some of the finest hand crafted English furniture available today, now into the 21st Century, Bespoke English furniture based on traditional craft skills is more relevant than ever, in a world of factory sweatshop imports, here, is the real thing! Handmade, Local, original and using natural materials.

I originally opened my design studio in High Wycombe in 1994, (home of English Furniture), with a hugely ambitious vision to create spellbinding English furniture, the best available anywhere, I dreamt my pieces would someday be in museums, only time will tell. I have built up a wealth of knowledge and understanding of English craft skills that I love to share with my clients, there's nothing more amazing than having a piece of furniture commissioned for you, designed and made in England, that you can keep and pass down, when something is made by hand, it feels like it's alive, and a real anchor piece for a home to enjoy, and part of our amazing heritage.

Our curtains are beautifully made with hand finished, hand sewn seems, and properly weighted. Our pelmets are crafted and drawn by hand, and over the years we have covered many windows treatments. What I like to call our romantic cosy fireside cottage window feel, perfect for a little Oxfordshire thatched cottage, with small windows, or farmhouse look, looks great on a pole, and also you can use less fabric than pinch pleat headings, and get away with 1 to 1 widths per window side, and it still feels a fuller treatment, you generally save yourself upto 3 mtrs of fabric per window over pinch pleats, I would say a popular default position for traditional Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses, if the rooms are more town house style, and taller like in London, Central Oxford etc, then you need to upgrade to a deeper 5" heading, as the little 3" heading is perfect for most smaller houses, but could get a bit lost, its not a formal look, more an understated rectory/vicarage/farmhouse look, but we pull though our headings randomly, so they feel less contrived like machine headings all ridiculously uniform, it's a soft friendly, welcoming way of dressing a room, and works for county houses, and most guest bedrooms, if you have a few more formal dramatic reception rooms, or master bedroom, then you need to look at pinch pleat headings, cartridges and goblets.

Picture above recovered, re-webbed and re-polished legs, we took a colefax and fowler velvet stripe and turned it around, so the stripe runs down the chair, and made some extra cushions for the client who was freshening up her house, for her daughter's big wedding reception, re-covered Edwardian armchair and cushions, and repainted drawing room in zoffany paint colours for client in Henley-on-Thames.

I apply the same process as creating a piece of handmade English furniture, so the cabinetry skills are the same, oak lined drawers, dove tailed fluted joints, solid wood construction, or a selection of fine and exotic veneers. One kitchen I created, we pealed the tree around the room and hand laid the veneers and hand pressed them to create a complete book-matched kitchen telling a beautiful story in Russian Karelian Birch.
