Different options will be considered and discussed with the customer to achieve the best results. A detailed written estimate will be provided, giving a full description of all work to be carried out, including parts to be replaced where appropriate, the cost involved and the amount of fabric required. Legs and show-wood can be re-finished sympathetically to preserve their patina and character, polishing and cutting back with antique wax. Where appropriate, wood can be stripped right back, stained and re-polished to the color required. Loose frames can be carefully taken apart, the old glue cleaned off and the frames re-glued back together to return them to their original strength. Missing parts of show-wood can be re-carved or turned and stained or polished to blend with the existing wood. We also offer a full restoration service for other items of furniture such as chests, tables and cabinets.
