Room Remedies opened for business in 2001, and is the third generation of a business that has gone from Grandmother (in the 1960's) to Father to Daughter. Located originally in Wimbledon it started as a bric-a-brac shop, grew into an antique shop with workshop and is now a home furnishing store with a mix of new and old that draws on the knowledge of the past to create a look that fits into a more modern home interior. We love to restore antique and vintage furniture. Sometimes we restore and re-polish to its original wood finish, other times we will paint pieces.

We are very happy to have been chosen to be stockist to the relaunch of Grand Illusions Vintage Paint. As a paint it has been in existence since the late 80's early 90's but in response to the growing market of people painting furniture for themselves, Grand Illusions has now updated the palette the packaging and the marketing. We think its a great alternative to other well know chalk style paints available on the market. Vintage Paint is a chalky water based paint based on the Milk Paint of the 18th & 19th century.

We have 4 basic designs and within this the customer decides on the length, colour/finish and the style and number of hooks. The prices and details are here on the website. We help customers transform their furniture giving them a new lease of life. We use Grand Illusions Vintage Style Chalk paint, and follow a rigourous process that includes preparation, hand painting and finishing. We can undertake some repairs, such as missing drawer stops, broken or missing drawer runners, knob/handle replacement, hinge replacement/correction.

We got these brilliant shopping bags in just before Christmas and now that I hear that the Wimbledon village market is back on, @wimbledonvilla gefarmersmarket, it's the perfect bag to take. And for shopping even more locally people have also been raving about the market at Raynes Park Vale Football.
