De La Espada and Studio Astolfi transformed a Lisbon apartment designed by rar.studio into a stage for activities designed to bring furniture to life. Open over six days, the apartment provided a platform for connection through design and the arts, celebrating the home and the meaningful objects that are physical manifestations of the owners' experiences.

The objects in our lives should be useful and beautiful, well thought through, and designed to last. As our experiences become layered memories, the reassuring presence of our valued possessions reminds us of our life's journey. Objects that connect with us originate from a place of connection: creators invested in the integrity of their craft, materials that appeal to the senses, consideration of the wider world. At De La Espada we build for life; furniture that ages well, with enduring relevance.

Neri&Hu is an inter-disciplinary award-winning architectural design practice based in Shanghai, China, with an additional office in London. With their product line, 'neri&hu' they seek alternatives to the normative, questioning the potential in 'Chinese design.' We're designing it in China and having it made in Portugal. Why? Because it's really just the best craft we've seen so far. What we're saying is that China needs to step out there and show the world that we can also design and create, Neri&Hu.

What's new?
