Named from the acronym to Shift Old Furniture Around, 'SOFA' (as the charity is more usually known) collects good quality furniture and appliances from local households and businesses. The SOFA Project operates in the area formerly known as Avon, with headquarters in West St, Old Market, with an additional retail store on the well know independent retail area of Gloucester Road. We collect household furniture and appliances from households on a daily basis. The items are brought back to our premises, and in the case of electrical appliances fully refurbished, before being made available at a low a price as possible in our retail outlets.
On Gloucester Road our shop is selling second hand/preloved furniture, electrical items, paint and retro furniture at affordable prices.
Wouldnt even give this place 1 star but facebook says i have to. Overpriced, considering they are meant to be for people struggling. I purchased a washer dryer from them when I moved house, 8 months later and the dryer doesnt work, called them and they said its past the 6 month warranty I told them I have had it just 8 months and its already broken thats not acceptable i wouldnt of paid the extra to get a washer dryer if it was just going to break, they told me they would fix it after having to call back at least 5 times, guy on the phone arranged a time to come and fix it and two guys turns up with a trolley and say oh you do know we are taking it away today, i told them no i was told it would be fixed, told them they cant take it as I have children who need uniform etc washed, they told me not a problem, they would re book it in, come back with a washing machine i can use whilst they take mine away, 3 months later and i am still waiting to that to be arranged.
Shocking service. Do not bother wasting your time. Arranged 2 collections & after several messages they still did not arrive anywhere near the requested time, making me about 2.5 hours late for work. When they did bother to show up, they didn't even take the sofa because of the scratches on it, which i told them about in my first phone call. Complete waste of time. How are they still in "business"?.
I bought a sofa there two weeks ago, still waiting for it. I had to take the day off to wait for the sofa to be delivered. Waited all day, called their office, they didn't sound too bothered. I had to call them the next day, they won't give me the money back. Just have to reschedule another delivery. They just don't seem to care much about the service they provide. Thanks guys.
