A boiler is a hard-working piece of machinery and, as with everything, things can and do go wrong. That's why we're here to help you get your boiler and central heating working effectively again. Whether you have an oil or gas boiler, our convenient and affordable boiler repair service covers the 20-mile radius surrounding Marlborough and we will fix any issues with minimal hassle. It isn't possible to list every issue that our engineers are able to fix but, whatever the problem, we'll diagnose and repair it as quickly as possible - whether it's something minor or a full boiler breakdown.

There are two types of solar panel - photovoltaic (PV), for generating electricity, and thermal, for heating water - while you may think that solar panels might not be the ideal fit for the UK's weather, both are good investments. This is because solar panels depend on daylight, not just on sunlight, allowing you to see the benefit all year round. Solar water heating systems, or ‘solar thermal' systems, use free heat from the sun to warm domestic hot water which is stored in a hot water cylinder.

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the surrounding air and use it to heat a building. Though it may seem counterintuitive, they're even able to function when the temperature of the input air is below 0°C, allowing you to benefit all year round. If you do not have the suitable land area for a ground source system, or have a very highly insulated new build property, or if you want heating for an outdoor pool, then an air source heat pump may well be an ideal solution. Air source heat pumps tend to require less work to install than ground source heat pumps and, therefore, have a lower installation cost.

As the heating is spread over a wide area, it heats more evenly and tends to be more energy efficient and, therefore, more cost effective than traditional radiators. Our underfloor heating specialists can design, install, maintain, and repair underfloor heating systems. Since underfloor heating is spread over a wide area, it distributes heat evenly throughout the room. This means, unlike radiators, there are no hot or cold spots. Heat is also retained if a door or window is left open. Our plumbers are able to carry out a wide range of plumbing services so, whether you need to replace a tap, move a radiator, or repair a burst pipe, we can help.

Norman has always been his happiest around water! He spent 14 years in the Merchant Navy, then went on to work for a company maintaining swimming pools. In 1990 he ran a plumbing and heating business as a sole trader in Berkshire. Five years later, he moved to Wiltshire and pursued a change of career in IT. He founded Plum-IT Services in August 2005. He took on Stewart as an apprentice in September 2007 and now has a team of four engineers looking after our customers. Although still hands-on in the business, Norman's primary role is business development and he is the first point of face-to-face contact for anyone requiring a quote.

You should arrange to have your gas or oil boiler serviced every year so that you're sure that it's working safely and efficiently. After all, while it's easy to overlook the amount of work that your boiler does behind the scenes, you'll soon notice if something goes wrong. Don't risk the inconvenience of a full boiler breakdown. Lack of maintenance can cause your gas or oil boiler to develop a range of faults, including deadly carbon monoxide leaks. An annual boiler service will find and fix any issues, saving you from costly breakdowns or safety risks.

A power-flush clears away any sediment and sludge that has built up within your pipework and radiators so your central heating system can work as efficiently as possible. An engineer will connect a pump to your system and will push chemicals through the pipework that break down and remove any build-up. At the end of the process, a corrosion inhibitor will be added to your central heating system in order to prevent rust from forming in the future. It makes sense to clean out your pipework and radiators to sure that your home is ready for the installation of your new boiler.

It'll work more effectively and efficiently than your old boiler, taking less time to heat your home and saving you money on running costs. This means that a new boiler is often a great investment as, provided it's maintained properly, you should see the benefits for years to come. We're able to install boilers from a wide range of manufacturers for a competitive price. A new boiler will benefit from modern technological advances that have been made since the installation of your current boiler, so it will do a better job of heating your home.
