Our city, retail and transport communication channels reach a broad, diverse and valuable audience through unmissable displays and dynamic delivery. Our business is built on the provision of services and innovation to enhance public amenity. Our products and media solutions enhance the urban infrastructure through smart, multi-functional street furniture, keeping people connected. Since the company was founded in 1964 JCDecaux has been characterised by an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation. Our mission is to create inspiring cityscapes that brighten and enrich people's lives.

In 1964 JCDecaux invented the concept of street furniture, a global amenity and advertising revolution. We have progressively become number one worldwide in out-of-home advertising, spearheading out-of-home's digital transformation. Our history is one of trailblazing innovation. Jean-Claude Decaux invents the new concept and business model of 'street furniture', with bus shelters financed by advertising. JCDecaux is born, and also a brand new 2 m2 advertising format. Lyon (France) becomes the first city to adopt JCDecaux's business model.

JCDecaux is dedicated to delivering the best out-of-home advertising and amenities. We have three clear areas of business: street furniture, transport advertising and billboard advertising. We are passionate about design, quality and great service, and pride ourselves on consistent innovation. We design, install and maintain a range of services developed for the benefit of cities, inhabitants of those cities, and those visiting. Services include bus shelters, mobile charging stations, interactive information panels and self-service bicycle schemes.

Millions of people in the UK experience JCDecaux products and services every day. At the same time, we're providing services to our partners and our brands, helping them achieve their business objectives, all underpinned by best practice in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. JCDecaux products are designed to benefit everyone who comes into contact with them. For the public, it's by providing street furniture and technology that makes everyday life run more smoothly. For our advertisers, it's about providing multiple effective communication channels for their brands.

In the UK, 54% of the population live in cities, and two-thirds of UK workers commute into them daily. This has led to increasing demands on the range of services needed by people when they're out and about. Our products and services are designed to enhance what the urban infrastructure provides. This will improve the visual amenity and, because messages can be changed by event, weather, news and location, deliver advertising more relevant to the here and now. We will continue to innovate to produce the most useful, attractive, environmentally responsible street furniture.

Design is in our DNA. Our street furniture and advertising sites work for brands and partners alike. Beautiful yet practical; stand-out, yet in keeping with the surrounding area; enhancing the visual amenity of their locations and environmentally responsible. A balancing act in which we're expert. All our products are designed and built to meet the needs of our partners, our brands and the millions of people who interact with them daily. We have worked closely with over 50 world-renowned designers and architects to produce collections of street furniture and advertising products that embody the city of tomorrow.
