Swandene is now well into its third generation of family ownership. From our humble beginnings in Seaham where we successfully operated for over thirty years, we moved to our new 15,500 square foot production facility and office units in Washington, where our machine, joinery and polishing plants are equipped to the highest of standards. We employ over 40 specialist tradesmen many of whom have been with us from being apprentices. A low turnover of personnel enables us to maintain the skills & our famous quality of workmanship.

At Swandene we strive the keep as much work as we can "in-house". This enables us to control quality, cost & efficiency which benefits both ourselves and you as our client. In our purpose built, state of the art woodworking mill we have the tradesmen and machinery capable of producing any mould shape or structure that can be drawn.

For many years Swandene was purely a bar fitting company consisting of joinery, polishing, upholstery and floor covering disciplines, with building works always sub-contracted. Over the past year or so, due to client demand we now have our own in-house building department, investing heavily in both equipment and personnel. We have procured some excellent, experienced tradesmen, and now carry out all of the works "in-house" to the same standard, and providing the same excellent service that Swandene is renowned for.

Swandene has an in-house design facility which provides detailed construction drawings. We never let this conflict with the relationship we have with architects and designers and often work in partnership to produce detailed working design packages for client approval. Our design capability has been put to particular use on our major hotel and leisure projects and in particular our export work in Norway.
