Perfect Fit is a revolutionary new stylish and versatile system of window blind, designed specifically for the modern UPVC window.

They are the experts in Karndean, and laminate flooring systems, these together with our tiling displays can be see on our display site. Please do let them know that you are a Crofton Customer to take advantage of our preferred rates.

Its an unfortunate fact that we have to take very seriously the threat of break ins into Conservatories and Orangeries. Today we usethese roomsas 2nd lounges, dining rooms and we often have equipment such as TVs, Hifis, computers as well as other valuables. To be honest these extensionswere always seen as the easy option for a burgular. The cylinder where it joins in the middle is only connected with a very small amount of metal or plastic, this can be forced by either impact or more commonly pulling the cylinder, again effecting easy quick entry.

There are two main types of Orangery, the conservatory style orangery. Ultraframes Livin Room is a good example of this. Ultraframe take a normal conservatory and they insert a skirt around the eaves and an external cornice around the outside. The other option is the full Crofton Orangery. This is our most popular product, we utilise a fully structural engineer designed timber roof which has a Firestone EPDM (single ply rubber) deck. This has our smart glass roof lantern placed on top.

Here at Crofton we use only the best folding doors. The Eurocell door is the best PVCu system available in the UK. It is one of the few systems to feature an inline track. Most PVCu doors have the track bolted to the outside of the outerframe, this means they drop and cause problems. Eurocell door gives the perfect excuse to bring the outside in, without worrying about reliability. Want to see them in action, watch the video here. Maximum sizes are 900mm per bay with a minimum size of 600mm per section.

The Victorian conservatory can be made with three sections, five sections and stretched (like the picture) These are the traditional conservatory we tend to associate with the Victorian era. Pretty and creating interesting shapes in the garden, they can often add an elegant style to many gardens. These are of course available in a choice of PVCu, Hardwood and aluminium with either polycarbornate or more often nowadays our super efficient Smart Glass. Just like the Victorian, the Edwardian has the same high pitched roof, but is square or rectangular in shape.

We only fit the very best in replacement windows and doors all our glazed replacement double glazing is A rated under the government WER scheme. This is a the best levels of insulation possible.

The largest conservatory roof manufacturer in the world is based in Clitheroe in Lancashire and producing in excess of 2500 roofs a week. Ultraframe have a total of 27 patents with another 14 applied for their conservatory systems. The magazine "House Beautiful" summed up Ultraframe best. When you consider during the average life of a conservatory, the roof is likely to encounter 50ft of rainfall, 450 days with snow falling, 57 days with hail the size of peas and of course, a wind that is often gale force-it needs to be good.

What should have been an exciting home improvement project for my mum has instead become a deeply stressful and costly ordeal. We paid Crofton Home Improvement Centre £23,000 to replace a glass conservatory roof with a tiled one.

My mum chose them specifically because they were a local business, believing that supporting a local company would ensure care, accountability, and quality.

Unfortunately, the reality has been the complete opposite. From the very beginning, the project was beset by delays, poor communication, and workmanship that can only be described as unacceptable.

The original glass roof, installed in 2009, had never leaked. It was structurally sound and had served the house perfectly well for over a decade. The problems began only after the new tiled roof was installed — and they began immediately.

The new roof has leaked repeatedly, causing significant damage to the plasterwork, freshly painted walls, and interior finishes inside the conservatory. Lights were not fitted properly, and the overall finish of the work was far below any reasonable standard for a job of this scale and cost. Despite months of attempts to get the issues resolved, the underlying problems have persisted because the workmanship itself is fundamentally flawed.

To understand the extent of the issues, we brought in an independent builder and roofer — a professional with over 600 five‑star reviews — to assess the installation. His findings were immediate, detailed, and extremely concerning. According to his assessment:

The east face of the roof has no soakers under the slate tiles, a basic requirement for preventing water ingress.

Sealant has been used excessively and inappropriately, in places where proper fitting and flashing should have been used.

This alone creates pathways for water to bypass the flashing entirely.

Tiles need to be stripped back and refitted properly, because the current installation does not meet even the minimum standard expected of a competent roofer.

Lead flashing has been fitted poorly, guaranteeing leaks over time.

These are not minor snags or cosmetic imperfections. They are fundamental construction errors that compromise the integrity of the roof and the structure beneath it.

Anyone looking at the photos can see the extent of the problem. This is not professional roofing; it is patchwork, and it is entirely unfit for purpose.

The impact on my mum has been significant. What should have been a straightforward improvement has turned into six months of stress, disruption, and escalating damage to her home. Instead of enjoying a newly improved conservatory, she has been left with leaks, ruined plaster, damaged paintwork, and the constant worry of further deterioration every time it rains.

The financial cost is only part of the issue. The emotional toll, the time spent chasing updates, the repeated attempts to get the work corrected, and the ongoing uncertainty have all made this experience incredibly upsetting. No homeowner should have to endure this after paying £23,000 for what should have been a high‑quality, long‑lasting improvement.

Based on the independent assessments, the photographic evidence, and the ongoing issues, it is clear that the workmanship falls far below acceptable standards. The roof needs to be stripped back and properly refitted by competent professionals. The current installation is not fit for purpose, and the damage caused as a result is entirely avoidable.

This experience has been shocking, stressful, and completely unacceptable. For anyone considering similar work, I would strongly advise avoiding Crofton Home Improvement Centre.

Crofton have a great range of customisable doors on display in their showroom which really helps with selecting the right style and fit for your home. This particular review though is about aftercare. We had a lovely endurance door fitted and supplied by Crofton three years ago. When I called them to let them know there was a problem with the lock (which was locking from the inside with no ability to unlock from the inside) rather than making us wait for endurance to dispatch a new lock they removed one from a display model and fitted the new lock with five keys and we only paid fifty quid for the engineer call out,Jim the engineer even checked and adjusted the fitting of the door slightly,I just love a craftsperson with perfectionist tendencies. Fantastic service and aftercare.Thank you Jim and Crofton Home Improvements

Please be careful if you decide to use this company. We used them to do an extension. We were told the quote covered everything other than flooring, decorating, and skirting and would take 4-6 weeks. 9 months later we are still waiting sign off, and the added costs have built up which apparently were not included in the quote. Even though some of the paperwork states otherwise. Also we had 2 weeks of no gas after an illegal flu was fitted to the boiler while they continued to try and argue with the gas inspector that it was appropriate. The gas could not be switched on until the appropriate flu was fitted so the arguing caused extra delays. Not great when you have 2 children and have no gas to use the cooker or hot water. They use a lot of commissioned teams, who are nice guys but all complain about the lack of communication from Crofton. We had about 3 different building teams work on the extension as they would leave after arguments with crofton, over money, scheduling etc. Crofton say they project manage but they never came out at all to check work whilst being undertaken. This has been a very stressful experience and it still hasn’t fully been resolved, so now proceeding on to trading standards.

We’ve recently had new windows fitted. Thrilled with them. Garry and Brandon were very efficient, tidy, polite and worked hard leaving us with windows we’re very proud of. Great service, excellent price and windows look lovely.

Fantastic opportunity to have project planned our Orangery with Steve Nahid, salesperson at CHIC,Fareham . Although we couldn’t proceed with the project due to our personal reasons, Steve was excellent in providing all the necessary information, patient & polite & very prompt to all our queries with swift communication for the Orangery. We look forward to working with Steve & his team in the near future. Highly recommend CHIC for home improvements

We are so delighted with the Orangery that Steve and his team have provided us. From start to finish, we were very impressed with the professionalism, commitment, communication and standard of work by all concerned. If you are thinking of a home improvement , then we would heartily recommend Crofton Home Improvement Centre.

Great service and a great price. Kept us updated all the way through the process. Very happy!
