Mark and Susan from Edinburgh had just had twins, and needed more space/bedrooms. This was an existing single storey extension to the side of their home. P.J. McHale removed the roof and built a second storey, an extra bedroom and a small study was also created. Entry into the new extension was of the top kite part of the stair. It was a challenge to get floor levels exact, but P.J. McHale got it right. With twins on the way we needed an extension to our house to give us an additional bedroom and small study.
