Our plant area team at Glendoick sell only the best plants for Scottish Conditions. We've been selling plants at our garden centre since 1973 and growing plants at Glendoick since 1953. Kenneth Cox's books Garden Plants for Scotland and Fruit and Vegetables for Scotland are based on years of research and interviews with Scotland's top growers. Glendoick follow the philosophy that we should sell Scottish Plants whenever they are available. Some of the many examples of Glendoick's Scottish grown plants include.

Called at the Garden Centre yesterday - a very hot day. I asked at the desk If I could carry two small dogs through to the outside area and was refused. Would never leave the dogs in the car so bought two carry out teas and drank them in the car park. Who knows what we might have spent, had we been allowed to view the plants. We noticed there was a side door into the restaurant. It would have been easy to put seating there for customers with dogs. They could even set aside a couple of tables inside near the door. The law says dogs are not allowed in areas where food is being prepared, nothing about where it's being eaten. A Norwegian couple we met in the car park were shocked that we couldn't go in. There were 1900 dogs stolen in the last year in the UK. People will pass by if they can't take dogs in.

Garden centre is a Lovely place, plenty choice, good selection. The restaurant however, was a shambles. The layout is not user friendly, and trying to order was difficult, cakes etc first in the queue, so cakes were sorted, just couldn't work out what hot food to eat. Eventually ordered baked potato with baked beans for me, burger and chips for my granddaughter, and soup with bread for my wife. Pot of tea for two as well. Soup came first for my wife, then 10 minutes later my granddaughters burger arrived, still no sign of my baked potato. After another five minutes later my baked potato arrived, not good enough. Had to go back for another pot of tea as well, as the original was cold, which I will say was supplied with no issue. I will also say that the food when we received it, was very good, but the disjointed presentation was very poor. Wouldn't hurry back for the cafe experience.

What's new?

Spring is here. dry mild weather is perfect for gardening.but lockdown remains. and it looks like garden centres wont be allowed to open till late March or early April.
