With over 100 varieties of ornamental grasses and a wide selection of hardy perennials, ferns, shrubs, and climbers, we combine traditional horticultural expertise with modern ecological planting design. Our founder, Mike Read, brings 32 years of experience in landscape design and horticulture, having earned a National Certificate in Landscape Design at Easton College. We offer a bespoke planting design service, winning multiple Gold Medals at major horticultural shows, including the Royal Norfolk Show and Gardeners World Live. We cultivate over 100 carefully selected ornamental grass varieties, including award-winning cultivars like Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation'. Our collection spans cool-season and warm-season grasses, offering year-round interest through texture, movement, and seasonal colour changes. Each grass is grown in our custom-designed nursery to ensure optimal health and vigour before dispatch.
Planting Design
Our bespoke planting design service creates tailored garden schemes using ecological principles. With 32 years of experience, we develop layouts that balance aesthetics with functionality, incorporating naturalistic prairie styles, contemporary courtyard designs, and traditional cottage gardens. Clients receive detailed planting plans and ongoing aftercare support.
Mail Order Service
Our nationwide mail-order service delivers professionally grown plants in 9cm pots or larger sizes. We use recycled packaging materials to ensure safe delivery while minimising environmental impact. Standard delivery costs 8.95 with free click-and-collect available at our Norfolk nursery for local customers.
Hardy Perennials
Our extensive perennial collection includes RHS Plants for Pollinators selections and drought-tolerant varieties. We propagate all plants from seed, cuttings, or division to maintain genetic diversity and vigour. Each perennial is acclimatised to UK growing conditions before sale, ensuring successful garden establishment.
Nursery Visits
Open Wednesday to Saturday, our nursery offers visitors the chance to explore display gardens and plant collections. We provide guided tours explaining our growing methods and planting techniques. Disabled access is available with prior arrangement, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in our outdoor areas.

Yes, we offer nationwide delivery through our mail-order service using APC or Royal Mail. Standard delivery costs £8.95 for any size order.
Can I visit the nursery in person?
Our nursery is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. We recommend checking availability for specific plants before visiting and offer guided tours for interested visitors.
