Peter Nicholson
Owner
Third-generation owner Peter Nicholson has led Gordale since 1979 after studying horticulture in England and Holland. He transformed the original smallholding into Britain's oldest garden centre while maintaining family values and horticultural excellence.

What are Gordale's opening hours?
Garden Centre: Mon-Fri 09:00-21:00, Sat 09:00-18:00, Sun 11:00-17:00. Coffee Shop varies seasonally.
Do you offer gardening advice?
Our trained horticulturists provide free expert advice on plant selection, garden design, and wildlife conservation.
Can I buy plants online?
Currently we only offer online booking for events. Plants and garden products require in-store purchase.
Are pets allowed on site?
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in outdoor areas, but not permitted in food service areas.
Do you deliver purchases?
Friends Rewards Club members receive free delivery to CH postcodes during January and February.
